Just returned from a 12 night holiday at the Rosemundy. This being our second stay. It has a relaxing and friendly atmosphere, the food quality and variety excellent. The attention given to my Wife's Dietary problem was outstanding, comfortable rooms with Staff efficient and friendly. The amount of people we spoke to who have returned many times to the Rosemundy is exceptional. We look forward to our next stay.

Brilliant listed building that is a hotel, so comes with some interesting history!
Food is lovely with huge variety and silver service. I am vegetarian and always found the menu more than sufficient to cater for my dietary requirements. Bar is a lovely area to spend an evening.
Contains 3 lounges that are a great place to retreat if the weather isn't so good.
Staff are all helpful and friendly, we've been going down for a number of years so know the staff well and cannot find fault with them.
Lovely outdoor swimming pool, open summer months only though.
Grounds are beautiful and there is a beach only 10 minutes walk away.

After just coming back from St Agnes where we (myself, wife and grown up son) stayed at this charming hotel for two weeks. I am shocked and horrified at the comments below regarding this hotel. This is our 2nd visit here over the past 3 years and we have never found anything to complain about . The food is out of this world, the staff (all of them) are very friendly, polite and will tend to your every need. The hotel is what it says on the tin - a county house hotel - clean, tidy and comfortable with beautiful lounges and bar and PLENTY of car parking. The four bedrooms we have stayed in have all been nicely decorated with anything you need. We really enjoyed the talk and sllide show on local history of St Agnes and the Hotel - Looking forward to the book. The grounds and village is a pleasure and perfect for us to get away from city life.

The shame about these sites is you just get the odd one of two people who didn't enjoy themselves for what ever reason write a nasty review, where the hundreds of guests who stay at the Rosemundy each year and really enjoy themselves never think of writing a review. These sites are for just bad tempered miserable people who would find fault at the Ritz.

We will be back.

Room Tip: Isn't a tip as all rooms are surrounded by grounds.

Had seen this hotel some years and thought it would be a nice place to stay. Maybe it was then, but we were so disappointed. Very dated, reception area, staircase etc awful, 1970s decor, lots of plastic flowers everywhere.
Booked (and paid for!) a 'superior' room, which left much to be desired even as a standard. An assortment of unmatched furniture, tacky pictures, poor lighting, mismatched lamps, ripped bed valance. There was a nasty smell much of the time, inside cupboards were smelly and damp. An assortment of old bent coathangers. A small room off for a third person (seems some of the adult guests were sleeping 3 to a room). That room had an old bed with no bedhead so that anyone sleeping would have a head against a hard towel rail or the window.
There were 2 coach parties in. The dining room was therefore very cramped. I had to move my chair when eating to allow waiting staff and other guests to pass. Dinner was very regimented with an expectation that you would be there at 7 so that all were served together. Dining room also dated. The menu sounded OK but in reality because of the numbers the food was cooked and served like a canteen. Service was amateurish and unprofessional. The serving of coffee afterwards in the bar was like a scrum. Definitely not the 'romantic atmosphere' advertised!
2 lounges are pleasant and quiet, the third smells badly. The grounds are full of (local) parking of cars and boats. What is advertised and what is delivered are 2 very different things. We were glad to leave after our 4 days, although found the area full of interest. A pity as it could be great place, but has not kept up with the times and needs much modernisation and proper management.

I spent one week in this hotel - one week too long. Rude staff, deputy manager was swearing because he needed to change the cartridge to print my invoice. He also worked as a barman and always was tired and stressed and I felt like he is making me a favour when I ask for a drink.
You could smell damp in bedrooms and I was also beaten by something in my bed, altought I have been told that it was probably something in the woods.

Had a great week's holiday in this comfortable, individual hotel. Staff were welcoming and friendly, room comfortable and food excellent and freshly prepared. Nothing was too much trouble. Our first room was rather small for two but was quickly exchanged for a superior room with much more space and wardrobe room. This is the only hotel I have ever visited where I didn't have to request extra hangers in the wardrobe! Soft towels and good shower were appreciated.

Well situated for exploring the many beautiful gardens of Cornwall and even a day trip to Tresco from Penzance. Sadly, weather too cool and wet to use the outdoor heated pool, but the bar area was welcoming and well used in the evenings.
Plenty of off road parking and the private hotel grounds were very quiet.

I would definitely visit again and recommend highly.

Room Tip: Book a larger, Superior Room
