We stayed at the waterwheel in June and had a very enjoyable stay! The garden was exceptional and a great place to enjoy an early evening or afternoon drink! The weather was slightly against us but it still was a high point in terms of what it offered when we had the opportunity to relax there.

We ate in the restaurant on the Friday night and the food was very good, a great selection, well cooked and generous portions. Breakfasts were equally good, a slightly smaller window of service than usual but very efficient and again of high quality and portion size.

The room we stayed in was a king size double and was very clean and stylish, the wet room was a slight novelty :) but it’s worth noting as it does provide a disabled accessible room. The opening doors in the room to our own table and access to the garden was a great asset and really added to the relaxed feel in the evening over a glass of wine!

Both Francesca and Mark were welcoming and we enjoyed meeting Kernow the dog, no sign of Bailey the cat though :)

A very enjoyable trip giving access to some great places in that part of the country, would definitely visit again!

Many Thanks
Andy

My husband and I chose here for an evening meal after having had a lovely meal here last year. The owners have made this establishment very tasteful and the gardens to the rear are magical with large ponds, decking and beautiful, lush planting and the 8 ducks being rounded up late evening just added to the experience.(The chef fell in on a previous duck rounding- up-no duck on the menu though!?!)
We ordered 2×salmon and prawns starters-delicious.Our mains were pork loin in a honey and mustard sauce and sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce cooked beautifully pink+ 1/2pt. lager, 1 glass of shiraz and a white wine spritzer.Toral cost = £ 61.00 and good value for money. We couldn't fit in a pudding because the portions were so big!
We asked to have our coffees served in the pretty garden outside and thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening. The owners have put their hearts and souls into making this establishment extremely attractive. Will we return? Of course, when we holiday in Cornwall next year.

The garden was excellent, the flowers were better than parts of the Eden project we came to see.
Our room was adequate but the view was over the car park. Due to the weather we had the window open and had the sound of running water, due to the river next to the hotel which is very relaxing. Next time would like the rooms facing the garden as these also had french doors.
The bar area is not large but this did not matter as we were either in the dining area or the garden. Francesca was friendly and helpful giving useful tips.
The food was excellent both for the breakfast and evening meals. The first night we ate in the dinning room, only one chief was on so there was a delay in the meals arriving but it is obvious the food is cooked from fresh and worth the wait. The second night we were joined by relatives and everyone enjoyed the meal especially the lemon sole and cheese board portions are all a good size.
The breakfast was served in the conservatory.
We booked as were going to the Eden Project which is about 10-15 mins drive away, the road leading to the hotel is closed to St Austell but accessible to the hotel.
I had read the good reviews on TripAdvisor but this exceeded my expectations

This lovely bed and breakfast inn has been the venue of our choice twice now. We were there two years ago, and most recently last week. Set in very beautiful and tranquil gardens with New Zealand tree ferns amass and water cascading from little waterfalls. The breakfasts are to die for and so generous. The rooms are comfortable and tastefully decorated, with en suite shower room, although a little small does the job. The evening meals, if you book to have one, are superb. Let's not forget Kernow the black Labrador, who is adorable and very laid back.
