I am happy to recommend the Hospitality of this B & B. Many thanks to the kindness of the proprietor of Sedgemoor Heights for returning my cardigan promptly, it was inadvertenly left behind.

I contacted the hotel for a last minute booking, Ray was great, gave good directions etc. My husband and I stayed with our three year old in the nursery room. We liked the relaxed feel, spacious room and interesting decor,(can't stand white cold minimalist rooms). There is a friendly dog called Blue, and Ray, the host, is friendly and relaxed. He cooked a great breakfast, really nice full english, or you can have whatever you like. If you have kids this is a great place to stay, really great value for money, and very close to the town centre. We will stay again in the future.

We are happy that you enjoyed your stay, found the property welcoming and didn't mention the white walls in the entrance hall and upper landing! Hopefully, you didn't notice, which is great; it can't look clinical. Thanks for the lovely comments and hope to see you again.

I contacted the hotel, with a view to making a booking for one night in June, as part of a 8-man iconic classic charity ride from John O'Groats to Land's End. Unfortunately, our party was bigger than total capacity, and instead, the proprietor, Ray Worman, provided alternative local names and phone numbers to assist in my ongoing enquiries. While naturally interested in our endeavours, as an athlete himself, he went above & beyond the call of duty to recommend suitable establishments to satisfy our requirements. With so much planning, to make our event successful, the interest & help was very gratefully received. Suffice it to say that I hope to meet him when we do stop over in St Austell

I absolutely loved this b&b, it was just like a larger version of my own house, very homely, lots of interesting bits and pieces to catch the eye and charming rooms full of character. Very traditional decoration with a homely feel.
Clean room, comfy beds and good shower. We stayed in the maids room - myself and my 2 year old son.
The owner of the b&b was friendly, chatty and helpful, i felt like sitting in front of the fire with him and a cup of tea and listening to his stories!
The b&b is a maximum 5 min walk from St Austell town centre which has buses to everywhere (we didnt have a car whilst we were in Cornwall) and enough shops to cater for things you might need. Across from the b&b is a beautiful viewpoint, perhaps being able to see the whole of St Austell!?
We would definitely like to stay again next year, perhaps even for a whole week!

Glad you had an enjoyable time. We have a good view across the Gover Valley, and I could direct you to a couple of sites where you can see over the whole town. The rooms are, we hope, homely: we've done our best to make the rooms comfortable and practical without spoiling their unique characters. Hope to see you again; still loads to see, and you can get a cheap bus and rail card; really handy when we're so close to the rail and bus station!

We booked 2 nights at short notice out of season needing somewhere that was dog friendly. It was everything we needed and more! We stayed in the Nursery room - which will happily accommodate a family - if the towels were mismatched we were much too happy to notice (see previous review). Breakfast was whatever you asked for - we had toast one morning and a full english the next - both were great. Ray was friendly and knowledgeable about the area pointing us to a beach we wouldn't have found. Our only gripe was it wasn't warm enough to sit out in the lovely courtyard!

Sorry about the lack of sun! Can I share with you the observations of an elderly gentleman I met many years ago? "Remember boy" he muttered whist staring into his glass, "it never rains in the public bar." And he was right! Glad you enjoyed your stay despite the weather.

The reception from Ray was very frosty, he seemed annoyed that he was not told before we booked that my son had brain damage that left him with learning difficulties. I was awakened by Ray at around 12.30am trying to enter in to the annexe, which left me feeling a bit uncomfortable. We read the reviews in the visitor book and were looking forward to breakfast, it was awful, he burnt the toast and made a 1/4 of a pot of coffee for 3 adults to share. He did not make us feel welcome, the towels were mismatched and shabby and was generally rude, telling me to make sure 'he (my son) doesn't touch anything'. His attitude ruined our stay and I will certainly NEVER stay there again and will not be recommending this B&B

We've stopped a number of times at Sedgemoor. The house is very individual, and each room has it's own feel and are comfortable. We had breakfast with the other guests, and were well provided for.
It's nice to be able to come and go via the back garden (nice in the Summer), as the back rooms feel very self contained.
Ray has to be the main attraction, and is keen to chat and share jokes - a great character!
