really good day out, the museum was really interesting and had activities to do whilst walking around, you could interact with things and try out some of the items on display, it was disabled friendly and the staff was very helpful and friendly, there is a nice little gift shop with lovely items you could purchase, this is definitely well worth a visit

“Interesting little Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2014

We spent an interesting couple of hours here on a rainy day! With two teenagers it was a bit of a gamble as i wasn't sure if it would be of any interest to them! It wasn't over crowded so we meandered around and all thoroughly enjoyed it. Plenty to see and learn but not too over touristy and tacky. Just a nice old fashioned museum! After we headed up to the Bosuns restaurant and enjoyed a very nice cream tea!! Charlestown itself is a very small and quaint, relatively un-spoilt fishing village. There are a couple of good restaurants and some crafty shops too. All in all a pretty successful day!

Great little well put together museum detailing the history of the town, shipwrecks and the local clay mining industry. Great value for families as kids under 10 are free.

“Very enjoyable”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 August 2014

Decided to visit with my two children aged 8 &9, they loved it. Lots of hands on exhibits for youngsters as well as artefacts and shipwreck finds. Very interesting few hours and excellent value for money as under 10s enter for free and tickets are valid all day. Worth a look.
