“We enjoyed an excellent late night tipple”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We wondered into the town centre and after eating found this nice pub to finish off our day. The first pint of Tribute lead to a further two - so this lets you know the quality was what it should be. The short time we had there was made more entertaining by our host - Alice, and it was a shame that our plans meant we could not return for more of the same the following day. However, we know where to go next time we fancy a lovely pint in St Austell.

“Great Pub Food with Friendly staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We had a great meal for a family of 5, with really friendly staff at the start of our weeks holiday in St Austell. We all decided to return on our last night for a second meal & was not disappointed. The food was again excellent with large portions and the steak was fabulous.
The staff were very friendly and thanks to Alice, Andrew, Dawn & Keith for making us feel so welcome in Cornwall.
I would recommend to anyone visiting or passing through St Austell, Cornwall

“Great value pub grub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

Popped in for lunch during a quick visit to st Austell.
Found it to be a lovely quiet, traditional pub with an extensive, reasonably priced lunch menu.
I had an omelette which was delicious and huge!! The homemade chips were amazing!
Would recommend this place for a reasonably priced pub meal in a traditional setting.

“Brilliant!”

Just stopped in with our family (8 of us) for the Wednesday roast, food was lovely, meat so tender it melted in the mouth, service was excellent, staff very friendly. Highly recommended little pub!

“Basic but just right”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

I needed somewhere to eat my first night and this was just a little stroll from my B&B so gave it a go and it was fine. A proper pub with food (I am so tired of eating places with a bar) the food was just right - I had a hearty and tasty steak and kidney pie. Being a Monday it wasn't busy but it had a nice atmosphere all the same - plus the bar staff and service were really OK.
