“Tucked away!”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

What a surprise, the Polgooth Inn was recommended by our B&B hosts. Tucked away just off the St Austell to Mevagissey road, in what seems like the middle of nowhere. Its a large old pub, serving beautiful meals. The meals are large, but a good variety of them are offered as half portions if you wish. All meals that I tried were beautifully cooked and presented. The desserts were divine! I must mention the waiting here. They are all so friendly and helpful. They seem to have a vegetable garden near the car park, which they appear to be growing their own vegetables. The prices well reflect the quality and diversity of meals offered, and I thoroughly recommend you try it.

Thank you for recommending us, we try to offer a varied menu with options for all appetites. We have developed an ever changing kitchen garden over the past few year's, which is a big part of our menu. Once again thank you for your positive comments.

“Lubbly!”

They were very friendly, helpful and quick. They really tried to make our evening out as enjoyable as possible, with a 3yr old and 10 month old it can be a struggle. But it was great! And the food was amazing! Lovely local produce, and HUGE portions, deffo value for money. And I have to say, the basil scented shortbread we had with our pudding was AMAZING! Lovely place and great if you've got kids!

We are so glad you enjoyed your evening with us, and took the time out to give us this kind review. We try to make sure the wait is not too long even at busy times and are so pleased you enjoyed your pudding. I will pass this on to our chefs.

“Nice food for all the family”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

We ate here on two occasions, being the closest pub and nice stroll from our accommodation at Bosinver.
It has a varied menu with lots of local fish and seafood options. I enjoyed the mussels on one occasion and crab and smoked fish on another whilst others enjoyed fish and chips and the fisherman's broth. Everyone, young and old, enjoyed the meals. They were well set up for children with toys, books, children's cutlery, which made it an easy place to eat at. The service was friendly and efficient. I would recommend it and eat there again.

“Worth the trip”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

On our holiday in Cornwall we booked a table at the Polgooth Inn. It is a nice place away in the middle of nowhere. The food is good. Staff is friendly but a bit unorganized. After the dessert they asked if it was OK to bring the bill. Probably there was no time for coffee. Booking a table in advance is best to do. Even on a Wednesday it was fully booked.
