“Lovely place”
Reviewed 31 August 2014 via mobile

Very impressed with the Polgooth Inn. They welcome dogs as well and are a family friendly pub.

When we booked we asked for our booking to include a dog-as one room is dog free (there are about 4 or 5 rooms though) and a highchair. When we arrived we had a table with plenty of room, though the pub was busy and they had even set up a baby plastic crockery seton the table with the high chair.

The baby changing facilities were excellent, even providing nappy bags and wipes plus there was a box of toys available in the pub too. Great ideas for including babies.

Even though they catered so well for babies and that the pub was busy, the layout/atmosphere of the restaurant meant that you were not impacted on by others so were still private within your group
group.

Lovely menu with very tasty food. Interesting options including own smoked chicken. Menu has changed each time we have been but always lovely.

Very impressesd, great place!

“Busy pub”
Reviewed 30 August 2014

We popped here for a drink and found this to be a pleasant pub but also very busy. We really wanted to sample some food but unfortunately the pub was packed with no sign of a table becoming available so we had to go elsewhere.

I am sorry you were unable to sample some our lovely food, we are very busy but usually find tables quite quickly for people who may not have booked. Just come to the bar next time and we will take your name and find you a table promptly. Thanks for your review.

I just wish none of the tourists new about you so I could come more regular during summer months...keep the gems hidden I recon

“Brilliant!”
Reviewed 28 August 2014 via mobile

Absolutely amazing food, big portions & so fresh. It wasn't too expensive either. Really great atmosphere, cosy yet not stuffy. The staff were so friendly, too. I'd definitely recommend it, our waitress was the best. Superb!
