Stayed at River Valley from 2nd September to 6th September. A lovely site, caravan was immaculate, nice helpful staff and good Facilities. Site is in a great location with most places being less than an hours drive. Will Return and certainly Recommend.

We have literally just got back home from our week away at River Valley, it is a gorgeous site, spotlessly clean, well maintained, and really friendly people who run it. On arrival we had milk, tea and biscuits waiting for us in our caravan, which was very welcome after a very long journey down. Caravan was immaculate, enough space for two adults and two kids. Kids loved the pool and had great fun playing football on the grass, the weather has been fantastic the whole time we've been there, so very lucky indeed. Some great cycle paths along the river, really handy for me as I am training for the Bupa Great North Run I used them to do my training/running. Everyday there was a chalk board outside reception letting you know about the tides, days out and what the weather was going to be like, great idea as when we arrived we wasn't sure where to head off first but ended up going to Fowey regatta and seeing a spectacular fireworks display at the end of the night. There's a great little shop just outside the campsite, selling enough to get you by, Asda is not far from the campsite but boy!! be prepared it is busy beyond belief, if you do need to do a shop do a massive one so you don't have to go back. A night you do hear the owls, amazing and with little light pollution great for budding astronomers. All in all you can't go wrong coming here for a holiday, it's just lovely.

We stayed here 8 times August 2002-2009 inclusive, then had 3 summers in France and returned here this August as we love River Valley so much. To be honest I just need to echo the sentiments of most other reviewers -
Fab clean new vans - we stayed in Beechwood Super.
Great site and cars not allowed on grass so safe for children although some guests obviously cannot read the 'Do not park on the grass' signs that they park next to!!!!
Barrier entry so no 'uninvited guests'.
Lovely and peaceful - no entertainment.
Fantastic owners and staff.
Great locality for attractions/beaches.

we stayed at the river valley at the start of the 6 week holidays in august 2013. Had not stayed in a static before so didnt really know how clean and modern these were. I have to say the statics on this site are immaculate. very clean and tidy. We had the one of the smaller sized oakwoods with double bedroom and twin rooms. (£550 for the week).Lovely hot shower and ample sized living area. TV only picked up a few channels but who goes on holiday and watches the telly all week?? Kitchen was very modern although the grill kept going off! You also have to leave the door open when cooking or you will trigger the smoke alarm. ( not just ours but we could hear a few of the others also). still, no big deal. The site itself is very well maintained and the shop/reception is always open. (there is a mobile number on the door if there is no one there and you need to contact them). The staff are very freindly and helpful. All the campers and caravaners mix in really well to create a wonderful communial atmosphere. Our children 5 and 7 made friends almost immediately and we hardly saw them all week!! The play area is great with the swings, slides, climbing frame and zip wire. Dogs are kept on leads so if you are like us and dont have a dog its not really a problem although you will be subjected to the usual barking frenzies! The pool is ok although it could do with regular cleaning as a lot of dead flies are floating around in there. Also there is no life guard so do not leave children alone in the pool. My only real gripe is the entrance to the site which is on a very bad corner so if you are coming out you will need to be extra vigilant. Overall i would definately recommend this site and would have no hesitation is booking again.

I rented a 6 berth static caravan for myself and my 3 children for our summer holiday in August. The caravan was immaculately clean on arrival. It was adequately kitted out with all necessary kitchen utensils and included a microwave over. It included a TV, warm air electric heaters in the bedrooms and a gas fire in the living room. Bed linen was provided. It was very good - and a made for a super relaxing holiday (much easier than camping!). It included two toilets and a good shower. The campsite is small and safe with a play area for children. The heated swimming pool is a bonus, and great for a rainy day. The location is just outside St Austell and easy to get to. Their is a traffic free cycle path adjacent to the campsite and the beach at Pentewan is only two miles away; added bonus is that it is flat all the way - even my six year son managed the ride. It was perfect. I would recommend and return if I had the chance. A really super place, and I had a very happy holiday there.

Room Tip: I was in caravan #40, which was the last row before the pitches. Well inside the park. The shop on t...

A great holiday park that caters for families but doesn't have the usual rubbish entertainment club house!

The park requests that people respect each other and keep the noise to a minimum after 10.30pm which I liked so if you want more going on in an evening then this won't be the site for you.

The caravan we stayed in was only a year old and was very clean and modern with everything you needed, the site overall is clean and well managed with an excellent indoor poor. There is a little shop over the road and the main town is only 5 mins drive away.

The site was in a great location for getting to all the places you would visit, Eden project, Newquay, Bodmin and I would recommend visiting the harbour village of Mevagissey- great for fish & chips and crabbing in the harbour!

Overall a well managed site that I would recommend for a family holiday.

River Valley Holiday Park, London Apprentice, St Austell, Cornwall is an excellent Holiday Park. We stayed in a three bedroom caravan which was brand new and the bed was lovely the best I have ever had in a caravan. The park facilities are excellent and very child friendly and safe. The swimming pool is heated and has steps to walk into the pool. There is a park for the children to play on with an excellent zip wire. The children loved it.
My only gripe really which is minor that there wasnt a vacum cleaner in the caravan. Also no shop on the site but an excellent one just outside the site and over the road.
We will certainly visit again.
