“Below expectations with annoying drawbacks”
Reviewed 8 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

This apartment was below our expectations and I don’t think we would stay here again mainly because of the deposit policy, poor outdoor seating arrangement, & unwanted food left in the cupboards.
Pluses
-Great location-easy to walk to beaches and Charlestown Harbour which has good choices for eating (Charlie's Boathouse is great) and entertainment
-Nice modern decor
-TV’s are good with lots of available channels (once you figure out how to use Sky)
-Apartment was clean

Negatives
-Lot of foodstuffs left in cupboards (eg. Opened quart bottle of whisky, half eaten Nutella & jam jars, ketchup bottles in the cupboards)
-No outdoors table. The three seat outdoor couch was very unwieldy and uncomfortable and to all intents and purposes unusable
-No eating tables inside and only three bar stools around the counter. Very awkward if you have guests for a snack or drink as we had
-In one couch the springs are totally gone and you feel like you're sitting on the floor
-Deposit at £300 is too high although with the amount of TV equipment sort of understandable. The length of time to return the deposit was too long (2 weeks after we left and I had to chase repayment)
-Instructions in apartment should address parking allocation, how to work TV equipment (Sky in particular), linens and towel change out-we were caught out with the laundry person bringing clean linens after we had just finished washing the linens and requesting the dirty ones on the middle Saturday
-No one greeted us on arrival at the apartment and showed us around—sometimes this is fine but with the poor instructions in the apartment an orientation would have been immensely helpful
-French doors to the front patio need attention and are sticking, making them troublesome to open, close and lock

“Great place to stay, very select and quiet!!”

Bit of a blip getting the keys but after an hour delay got in ok. CH/Hot water not working but was sorted within 1/2 hr - very impressive. Fabulous property, well equipped, very clean and comfortable and fabulous views. Only criticisms would be all the seating was facing away from the lovely view and the only seating for eating was 3 stools at a breakfast bar (with your back to the view), not sure where the 4th person would sit, as it is an apartment for 4 people. Comfortable outside sofa and 'coffee table' but would have loved a table and chairs to eat outside and also inside. We passed these comments to the owner and while we didnt convince her on the inside due to spoiling the flow of the room, she did say she was thinking of providing outside eating facilities. I would say at this point that we are in our late 50's and this might not be an issue with younger people. If you want a 'posh' apartment with great views and easy access to some great places you should stay here.

“Shorthorn a home from home on holiday”

A beautiful stylish modern apartment in newly built block in a coastal private residential area, with all mod cons including wifi, and easy parking right outside front door - all you can hear is the birds singing. The bedrooms have very comfortable beds and pillows all you could ask for, the bathrooms one with walk in shower and the other with bath and shower over come with large fluffy towels. The kitchen is fully functional with everything you need to make your stay a home from home. Living room with a large tv and sky+ is also comfortable and homely.

Breath taking views over Carlyon Bay and a short stroll from the Carlyon Bay hotel which offers excellent day spa packages. Even though we had some rain and wind during our stay it did not spoil the wonderful views through the floor to ceiling windows in the cosy lounge.

Location is ideal for walking along the coastal path and a lovely walk down to the quaint and charming old port of Charlestown for a relaxing amble around the harbour, beach and the one-off gift shops and a wonderful coffee house.

We had a lovely relaxing stay. recommended !

Set in a private road, no busy traffic. Perfect location for this part of Cornwall.(St Austell). Great sea views. The bedrooms & bathrooms were very comfortable & kitchen was fully functional with all mod cons. Living room with large tv was also comfortable. Location ideal for walking on coastal path; especially down to Charlestown for local pubs.
