Last minute booking resulted in a fantastic break. Hotel was in an excellent location and we were not disappointed by the stunning sea views from our room. Staff were all very friendly, breakfast was good, had smoked salmon and scrambled egg which was delicious. Met some interesting people in the hotel bar and enjoyed a good rapport with George, who was very knowledgeable about the area. Hotel is a great base to explore Cornwall - we will definitely be back

On the plus side:
+ amazing views
+ quiet location
+ kind and helpful staff
+ spotlessly clean
+ lots of hot water
BUT....
- ‘Basil’ (the manager) was quite sharp (rude!) in his comments to us and his staff
- breakfast was awful e.g. cheap tinned peaches and prunes (though, in fairness) the cooked breakfasts may have been ok
- significantly over priced
- dated decor
- room 7 was noisy- we were disturbed by other guests

We didn't have to travel too far and decided to try an hotel we spotted when walking the SWCP a few years ago. Great sea-view from bedroom No. 23, excellent evening meal, loads of hot water and warm room(had to open the windows!) and CLEAN ones - so many hotels with lovely views have filthy windows. Quiet and friendly. We'll be back! There was some sort of small (8) teacher group staying, and we asked to be moved away from the table offered (the group was not noisy) and this was done with no fuss, so we were a little away from the group enjoying their re-union.

This hotel has incredible views from the bar and breakfast room, indeed the bar seems to be laid out so as many guests as possible can enjoy it. It was one of the few hotel bars I actually enjoyed having a drink in.Breakfast was a good standard - I recommend the muffins. Rooms were very spacious and beds comfortable. I would have given the hotel 5 stars except for the fact that reception never actually seemed to have anyone there which was a nuisance.

Stayed here for four nights and found the hotel comfortable and friendly. The breakfasts were good and evening meals in the bar (can also be taken in more formal restaurant) were very good. The sea view from our room was lovely (picture). Great clifftop walk to Charlestown. Friendly and helpful staff at hotel made us feel really welcome.
