Stayed ot the White Hart Hotel with my wife for three nights. All the staff are friendly, happy and efficient. Our room was spotless with a large ensuite bathroom. The welcome tray was replenished every day with a variety of hot drinks and biscuits. The only downside was that the room became stuffy at night as we were unable to open the windows which were secondary glazed to exclude noise as the room was on the front of the hotel and we were also advised to keep the windows closed as pigeons may get in.
The restaurant is first class, inclusive breakfast was excellent with a variety of choice for all tastes
the cooked breakfast was especially good. Evening dinner in the restaurant is of a high standard with a good choice of meals and the presentation was a credit to the chef, prices are reasonable for the fare available.
For those who want a hotel with an old world feel and an old world welcome in the centre of the town close to the coast the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan this establishment is highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel overlook the church. Standard double rooms are of a very good standard.

This is a good hotel, bar & restaurant with nice rooms and friendly staff. The hotel has parking and due to the layout of St Austell it can be a little tricky to find. The pub sells the locally brewed beer and the breakfast was very good.

I really had to write to say what a fantastic welcome after a long drive, and tremendous hospitality.
We had help with our luggage up the stairs and a great bonus in the busy streets of St Austell was the existence of their own car park.
The bed was the softest I have slept in all week, and room service when we requested an iron and sandwiches was excellent.
The room was fresh, clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very nice.
I will recommend this to anyone !
My only negative would be the very winding staircase, but hey, this is an old, charming place recently refurbished and that's the way it is.Staff took care of all our luggage.

If you are visiting Cornwall this is a nice, cosy, historical hotel to stay.
I stayed with friends and booked a room that accommodated very comfortably three adults, with a big bathroom, tv, storage space and also quality toiletries.
The restaurant is also really good and with an excellent service.

This was a last minute booking and we were met by very friendly, cheery, helpful staff. The room was adequate although the view was unfortunately that of another building in close proximity! The room was exceptionally, uncomfortably hot at night! We ate in the restaurant and my medium, rare steak was all but inedible. However, I was offered a complimentary dessert but, really, the meal should have been taken off the bill. I didn't challenge this as the waitress was so very helpful. The breakfast however was delicious, eggs benedict, the poached eggs were perfect. Sadly, I wouldn't stay here again but it definitely didn't spoil our weekend.
