We decided on The White Hart as we wanted a quiet place as a base but with easy access to Lands End, St Ives and the Eden Project, What we didn't know was how good a base it would be. We checked in at 8pm on Friday night and was greeted with a welcoming smile and an easy check in. The Hotel Car Park (free) was across the road and only a 1 minute walk away. The Hotel is a lovely old building that has a modern clean cut design. The reception and bar area are light and open. The room we had was clean, quiet and of an adequate size, as was the bathroom.

We went for a few drinks on the Friday night and felt safe and was made to feel welcome around the town. We also were made to feel welcome when we arrived back at 11pm and were asked if we would like a drink and didn't feel like we were keeping people up.

The breakfast was brilliant and you could have anything off the breakfast menu but don't worry about the cost as its already included in your stay.

We wouldn't think twice about staying here again as it was just what we were after.

Room Tip: We had room 17 and it was quiet.

Stayed ot the White Hart Hotel with my wife for three nights. All the staff are friendly, happy and efficient. Our room was spotless with a large ensuite bathroom. The welcome tray was replenished every day with a variety of hot drinks and biscuits. The only downside was that the room became stuffy at night as we were unable to open the windows which were secondary glazed to exclude noise as the room was on the front of the hotel and we were also advised to keep the windows closed as pigeons may get in.
The restaurant is first class, inclusive breakfast was excellent with a variety of choice for all tastes
the cooked breakfast was especially good. Evening dinner in the restaurant is of a high standard with a good choice of meals and the presentation was a credit to the chef, prices are reasonable for the fare available.
For those who want a hotel with an old world feel and an old world welcome in the centre of the town close to the coast the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan this establishment is highly recommended.

Room Tip: Rooms at the front of the hotel overlook the church. Standard double rooms are of a very good standard.

This is a good hotel, bar & restaurant with nice rooms and friendly staff. The hotel has parking and due to the layout of St Austell it can be a little tricky to find. The pub sells the locally brewed beer and the breakfast was very good.

I really had to write to say what a fantastic welcome after a long drive, and tremendous hospitality.
We had help with our luggage up the stairs and a great bonus in the busy streets of St Austell was the existence of their own car park.
The bed was the softest I have slept in all week, and room service when we requested an iron and sandwiches was excellent.
The room was fresh, clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was very nice.
I will recommend this to anyone !
My only negative would be the very winding staircase, but hey, this is an old, charming place recently refurbished and that's the way it is.Staff took care of all our luggage.

If you are visiting Cornwall this is a nice, cosy, historical hotel to stay.
I stayed with friends and booked a room that accommodated very comfortably three adults, with a big bathroom, tv, storage space and also quality toiletries.
The restaurant is also really good and with an excellent service.
