Most Premier Inns are to a similar standard and this one doesn't disappoint. Located outside the main town, first impressions aren't the best - although the wall render has been recently repainted, the windows and sills are in desperate need of a paint. Inside though, the refurbishment is further along and almost everything looks tidy and fresh. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, although the towels were fairly worn and it takes a long time for the hot water to come through for the bath / shower (and the pressure isn't great). An electric fan was available to help keep the room cool which was a welcome extra. A minor gripe - only two teabags!. The staff as usual were very friendly and the receptionist in particular was really helpful and made us feel very welcome, with recommendations for places to visit, taxi bookings and going that step further than many do.

There was some road noise from the main dual carriageway alongside the hotel but for us this was compensated by the views over the town and out to sea. As with many other Premier Inns, there is no lift on site but rooms on the ground floor are available and there is level access from the large car park to the hotel. The entrance to the separate restaurant for dinner and breakfast is about 200 yards away so you'll need an umbrella if it's raining! Staff in the restaurant are friendly and service was fairly prompt.

Room Tip: For a quieter room, avoid rooms overlooking the dual carriageway

Clean, comfortable and a good nights sleep, it's what you expect in any Premier Inn now and here is no exception. The only slight drawback is that it is quite far away from the town centre, so a taxi is a must if you are planning a trip out.

Very friendly staff, but could improve with more business like training.
Plenty of staff but service in the restaurant was slow. I had to ask if my meal was ready, and could tell it had been left in a hot cupboard and dried out.

And it won't be the last! We stayed in this hotel for four nights to give us the opportunity to tour Cornwall. We visited many places on the north and south coast and found this hotel ideally situated to enable us to do so. This hotel is situated outside St Austell with scenic views. The staff were welcoming and most helpful, and we had a very good sized room, spotlessly clean with a very comfortable bed. There is a Table Table restaurant next door which can be inconsistant in the quality of it's food. The first two nights dinners were disappointing, the next two very good and service is excellent. Did not have breakfast,so can't comment on that, although we did find a bakers at the bottom of the hill(turn right and it's on the left) which served an excellent breakfast at good prices. Would recommend this hotel and would certainly stay again.

The staff are professional extremely efficient, friendly and well informed about the local area. When you make a booking they send very precise and helpful directions for finding the Inn. Good size room and bathroom, spotlessly clean, comefortable beds.
The situation of the inn is scenic, close to main road without the noise of traffic, ample parking. There is a restaurant next door which is good value serving good food.

Refurbished rooms, very well kept, with bright and very friendly staff. We were royally welcomed and the staff did everything to make us feel at home. My wife has to take medication which has to be kept chilled and the staff looked after this for her in their own fridge. They welcomed us back every night and wished us well every morning when we set out. They went the extra mile to make our four night stay very enjoyable.

Room Tip: Ask for one overlooking the coast. We had the car park side which was good for us so I could keep an...
