Do not hold your breath or be in any doubt about this property.
It is not a cottage, it is a grey pebble-dashed minimalist mid-terrace 2 up and 2 down opening directly onto the main road, with a dodgy front door.
The predominant views are of the incinerator plant stack and the china clay quarry.
The most polite description would be ‘unloved’.
We visited in mid July 2017 for a week. The furnishings are basic and well worn and the twin beds in the second bedroom are downright dangerous when put together as a double – the design is totally inappropriate.
There were no spare bulbs to replace those we found not working – we were obviously expected to replace them at our own expense.
The property description is misleading – the ‘garden/patio’ consists of a very small are taken up with a shed and a rotary clothes line.
The bathroom/toilet, which opens directly into the kitchen, had no heating, so this property would not be fit for use in cold weather.
A number of the electrical appliances in the lounge were attached to a multi-way socket hanging from the wall, and the carpet didn’t fit.
The stairs would be dangerous for small children.
Had we known how poor the towels provided were we would have taken our own - even the towel we use for the dog is better quality than the ones in the property.
In short a bargain basement disappointment for a premium price.
