My wife says "You get what you pay for"! I say yes, it's expensive but you get a real treat for your money, and the standard of care is consistently superb. I don't know whether it's to do with the initial selection of the staff, or their subsequent training and supervision, but we found it impossible to single out any individual for particular praise because everyone with whom we came into contact demonstrated a courteous desire to please, but without being obsequious. Admittedly, the ratio of staff to guests was approaching 1 to 1 at times in the restaurant (in early March) and of course that has to be paid for!
We found the food excellent - not over fussy "michelin" style, but with good quality local ingredients wherever possible. This applied both in the Restaurant and the Quarter deck.

Room Tip: We have never been disappointed with any of the several rooms we have occupied over recent years.

This is a fantastic hotel at any time of the year. It has everything - sea, indoor and outdoor pools, wonderful food, relaxing rooms and bedrooms and a wonderful view.

It's particularly good for families and older people who would like a comfortable, high-grade hotel to relax in. There are lovely touches like the hot water bottle in your bed in the winter months, tea cosies on the tea-pots, homemade jam, a filled pin cushion in your room and much more.

The food in both restaurants is excellent and the afternoon tea (part of most packages) is really good (again, it's nice to have it in a silver tea pot on a traditional tray).

The beach is fantastic at any time of the year. I was there in the winter during a very blustery time but it was still a joy to stay there. Recommended.

Room Tip: There are loads of rooms with a sea view and they will try to give you one of those if possible. Definitely ask for one as the views are lovely.

Our break started as soon as we arrived with two doormen to take our car keys and get the luggage out and an offer to unpack our bags.Bliss. A cup of tea awaited us in the lounge with cake and scones and log fires real wood not imitation gas fires.Great evening meals with some music. It is so good to have silver service at the table. And so to bed in a comfortable room with the bed turned down and a hot water bottle to tempt you into the most dreamy bed and enjoy a peaceful night.

Room Tip: Sea view worth the money

The Nare hotel never fails to please from the moment you arrive you feel you feel totally at ease and spoilt, everyone takes time and care to ensure your every need is catered for. It is luxury without feeling overwhelmed. The Nare is the place where you leave the world behind and just wallow in the comfort and kindness, with beautiful views to raise your spirts, we had two little dogs one which was a very young puppy which did not faze anyone, dogs like humans are made very welcome.

Room Tip: Every room at the Nare are wonderful, with same amount of luxury and comfort, it is very much down to personal choice.

I am a little bit late posting this review so apologies for the delay!

We visted the Nare for lunch on the Quarterdeck whilst visiting family who live only a few minutes away. What a delightful little gem of a hotel. I myself work in a 5* hotel in central London and the service and general vibe at the Nare is certainly on par. The hotel is situated on rocks over looking a beach with beautiful views. On both my visits it was tipping it down with rain but it was kind of nice walking along the beach in our waterproofs and stopping at the Nare for a warming pot of tea and bite to eat. Although the prices are relatively high the service is impeccable and from my experience prices match the quality of food and service that's on offer. It is a blissful to spend the afternoon.

I can't wait to visit the Nare again which is certainly one of my favourite hotels I have ever been to. I think this time we will come in Summer as well and enjoy sitting out on the deck.
