We recently attended a wedding at gabbys and I have to say that we were absolutely amazed. Who knew that such an exquisite establishment existed in the tiny little town that is berry. Everything about the night we had there was magical. The meals we all had left us talking and wanting more of the same for days after, the staff were just lovely and could t have waited on us any more than they did. Oh and the appearance of the place.....so very very pretty. The lighting and the way everything was decorated was just so special. We highly recommend gabbys if you want a friendly and personal experience. Cannot wait to go there again.

After initially booking our wedding at Gabby's we were treating with great customer service, however this dimished marketably over time to the point where we felt like we were a hassle on them. We even arranged a visit to show our parents the venue and Caroline (the owner) did not remeber who we were (even after confirming the day, time and who we were the day before).

We unfortunetly had to cancel our reception booking - still getting married, just circumstances changed - we gave Gabby's 7 months notice and hoped that they would kindly refund the deposit of $1500, we knew that the deposit was non refundable however we were hoping they would understand our circumstances and given the extended time be compassionate towards us. However the answer was a straight out no.

Would I reccomend them to other wedding parties? NO. Reasons: the declining customer service standard and disorganisation. The venue is in need of a good clean (carpets are dirty, cobwebs around). The refusal to refund the deposit also does not sit well......

The venue has potential to be beautiful however the current owners are letting the place down.

We had Christmas Lunch at Gabbys. The menu was what attracted us to this it appeared to steer clear of the usual turkey & veg followed by pudding offering and offered something different. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. For entree there was a choice of a seafood & smoked salmon with avocado platter, or pork belly cooked Asian style. The seafood & smoked salmon and avocado was OK, it was fresh but presentation was rather basic. The pork belly however, was a total disappointment. I had recently come back from a business trip in China, where I had tasted pork belly. The meat was there very tender and the fat just melts in the mouth. The pork belly at Gabbys was completely opposite. The meat was very dry and the fat was congealed. For the mains there was a choice of honey soy pork, or rack of lamb with shiraz glaze. The pork was very dry and only one serve on our table had anything like crackling on it. The lamb had been cooked well, with the meat being very tender. Unfortunately, the shiraz glaze was so sweet, it was like having strawberry jam with your main course and completely ruined the experience.
On the plus side Gabbys does have a very pleasant ambiance and if the food lived up to expectations, this would have been a great dining experience.
