Reviewed 26 January 2014 via mobile

Veal snit zeal freshly made I heard the kitchen make it out back with fresh bread crumbs a nice touch. Mushroom for entree was nice & fresh. Little place but food quite nice. Service was exceptional.

“Must try the specialty of the house-pork knuckle!”
Reviewed 18 November 2013

Real German fare - must try the pork knuckle - delicious and hearty with perfect crackling! Wash it down with German beer. Small and cozy place.

“great if you like pork”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

We ate here for dinner during our weekend in Bowral. Two lovely German looking lasses served us and did so graciously and efficiently. As we don't eat pork our choices were reduced. The 4 of us chose the veal schnitzel. We are not sure if it turned out to be "veal" or "beef" schnitzel. It tasted OK and the crumbing had good texture. I regret the fries left a lot to be desired. Possibly recooked or old oil. We cant be sure. But nevertheless substandard. There are many places to eat at Bowral. Subsequently we have no reason to return here. I recommend the chef makes more beef and chicken dishes.

“For German food fans this was awesome!”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

We went there on a Sunday night! The food was great! Fresh, quick and yummy!! The service was friendly and not overbearing at all. The beer and the waitress suggestions were spot on! The decor was a little random but at the end of the night Wolfgang came out and explained to us what each picture represented. Each artwork or picture represented a part of his life which then knowing that made it even more quaint and special. We will go back when we are in Bowral again!!

“Porky Goodness - and lots of it”
Reviewed 22 September 2013

Had dinner here last night with 7 friends on a weekend golf trip and had a fantastic night.

It's a small place, tucked away on the inside of an arcade. Furniture is all solid wood and the decor had a definite German feel to it - a little sparce and a bit hard. The room is also brightly lit, so not the place for a romantic dinner, but perfect for a small group like ours.

Six of us went for the platter which consisted of a huge roasted pork knuckle, two german sausages, a pork chop, saurkraut, red cabbage, mashed potato and some onion rings. This meal for two was tasty and definitely one you needed a big appetite to get through; all the boys gave it a big thumbs up. At $59 between two people, it was also very good value for money.

We tried the Apple Struddle and an Orange Chocolate Mousse from the dessert menu as well. The strudle was nice but the mousse, served in a brandy snap basket, hadn't quite set and was a bit runny; great flavour but not the texture you might expect from a good mousse.

The two waitresses were also a lot of fun and helped make it a great night. We had to wait a while for the food to arrive, but we were in good company so that didn't matter to us too much.

All in all, if you like German food, I'd recommend this little place highly.
