“Excellent accommodation and wonderful staff!!”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

We had a lovely experience with Gibraltar hotel. Rooms were wonderful and the service staff were so lovely and helpful going out of their way to make us feel welcome. The breakfast is also fantastic. Highly recommended!

We stayed here on my wedding night in an executive suite with the spa bath.
I had an off site wedding at Centennial Vineyards but recommended that my guests stay at Gibraltar after a recommendation from a friend.
In total i had about 46 guests who stayed at the Gibraltar for 1 night.
Our room was sensational with probably the best beds and pillows I have slept on in a long time!
Our friends were raving about the rooms and the fantastic breakfast too...
The hotel is located on Centennial Road in Bowral - close to everything!
Our room had a magnificent view of the golf course, amazing spa and modern bathroom and as I said before... Sensational bed and pillows!
Will definitely be back!!!

Room Tip: Chose a room with a view of the golf course away from Harvey's Bar.

We spent Saturday night here. The purpose was to attend a wedding held on a nearby estate.
Checking in was smooth and efficient. The layout of the hotel was clearly explained and we were soon in the room. This was a ground floor room, overlooking a superbly manicured golf course. Soon after we had lunch in the restaurant. One small niggle is the corridors are dimly lit, so if you are in to mood lighting you will like it, though I appreciate that energy savings are welcome I suppose.
The selection and quality of the good was wonderful. The service was friendly, even sharing a laugh or too as we settled down to our table!
Back in the room, time to explore the features. The bedroom was fairly standard. Large TV, large King bed and then there was the bathtub and shower! Wow! The bath was an impressive structure, Cleopatra would have been at home using! The bathroom was clean and well lit.
At the wedding, there was a call from the hotel about the reservation. Confused, once back at the hotel, the call was queried at reception. They had no idea what the issue was. There had also been a call to the room phone. All very curious.
During the night there was no discernible noise, apart from the low hum of the air-conditioning.
Breakfast was included in the package and consisted of a good selection of hot food, toast and cereals! A great way to prepare for the day ahead!
We were able to gain an extra hour over the 10am checkout time which we appreciated. Checkout was smooth and also efficient. This hotel would be fine for families, couples and corporates who may wish to hold a business meeting in a wonderful location. There appear to be ample function rooms for any occasion, large or small.
This was a great stay, on a wonderful weekend!

Good location beside a golf course, this hotel is about 18 months old. But it is showing wear and tear already - torn/worn upholstery in Harvey's Bar, marks on walls, mould in the bathroom (and this was one of the better Gibraltar suites).
Check-in was terse and unfriendly, and we waited in the bar for our room to be made ready and were told they would call us when this was done. No phone call, and eventually we returned to the desk to be told our room was indeed ready and had been for a while.
Room was large and comfortable, very quiet. Bed was really comfortable, good sleep quality. TV large, only free to air channels, no cable.
Wifi available, charged (it should be free).
Bathroom - large, good shower, mould as mentioned, one nozzle missing in the spa bath. Limited soaps and shower body wash gel.
Breakfast - chaotic. All tables are large (seat at least 6) but all patrons (including singles and couples) are given a full table to themselves. So a number of us were told to wait, and have a coffee. The coffee machine was woefully inadequate and slow, with a large queue. Eventually we asked another couple if we could share their large table, so we could at least get some breakfast. The breakfast itself was fine.
So, can not recommend this hotel, and will try another in the future.

On our honeymoon road trip, we stopped for 2 nights at the Gibraltar. We bought the 'romance package' which also included a two course dinner for both of us, breakfast both mornings, and a voucher to the day spa. I had the sensational Mikiri facial with Inga who was just wonderful! It was SO relaxing and I felt very refreshed afterwards. The room & bathroom were enormous with a beautiful outlook over the golf course and the mountain. This was one of the very best stays we've had on our honeymoon-we'll be coming back for future anniversaries!

Wow. What a great place to stay!
Really helpful service on the front desk, lovely, quiet rooms, handy gym and pool. Breakfast was also pretty good.
One of the best places we have stayed at.
We took advantage of the spa package and had really relaxing massages.
We will definitely go back soon!

We won a dinner for two at Harveys and had been told it was great but weren't expecting anything special, however we were delighted and plan to come back. The bar and restaurant area are adjacent so while you can hear the buzz of the bar you can still enjoy an intimate dinner. We loved having a drink before dinner in the bar then moving across to the table area to eat. The service was excellent - warm and friendly but not obtrusive and the food was spectacular. Every course was beautifully presented and delicious and the wine list is very good. We were extremely impressed and recommend Harvey's for an excellent night out.

Room Tip: We didn't stay over so can't comment - only ate at Harvey's Bar.
