Cape Byron lighthouse is one of my favourite places to go in Australia, so beautiful !!
On the day we went there were many whales and schools of dolphins just off shore all putting on a fantasic display something I will never forget.
If you have problems walking drive up the hill and park near the lighthouse.
Also make sure you walk out along the path to the lookout it is worth it for the beautiful view.

What an attractive lighthouse, and it was rewarding to reach it after the long hike up the hill. The views from the top are tremendous, too. There is even a cafe for refreshment. At night, you can see the working lantern sweep across the sky.

The Cape Byron Light house sits at the eastern most point of Australia. Although you can't go up to the top of light house and parking at the top is limited, it is an reasonable 30 minute walk to the top from the bottom of the hill. There a path most of the way. On a nice day the cafe is a good place to stop with Toilets available as well. The views are amazing on the walk up and from the top

We walked up to see the sunrise, and it was so worth the early wake up. On our way up we met a kangaroo, and on the way down we saw whales jumping!

An unforgettable experience in such a beautiful place!!

This is a great example of the coastal lighthouses designed in the colonial era and built around the turn of the 20th century. It enjoys wonderful views and wasn't very crowded the day we visited. Visit late in the day for a stunning sunset!
