“Lovely place right on the beach”

We has a great holiday here. The park was small and tidy and well maintained. Although almost full there was never any wait for facilities. There was brush turkeys everywhere which were frustrating and the sites were crowded together but overall we had a most enjoyable stay and would certainly stay again.

Kids love the place and bush turkeys are everywhere.
Just secure your food in one of the parks communal fridges and don't leave out plastic bags as they think they are food even if they are full of dirty washing.
We Loved our stay and will come back.

If you don't have young children this place may not really suite you DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS (Vic or NSW) lots of noisy kids around. However if you do have children this place is perfect. A great location, Clean and right on a beautiful beach. Reception office is helpful but wi fi is a bit doddgy.

We came for a night and stayed for 4! Beautiful park in a great location. We loved the proximity to town as well as the beach. Enjoyed a lovely walk to the lighthouse from our campsite and were delighted to see dolphins and whales from the shore. The park provides a great play space for children and the facilities are clean and well maintained. Our only caution - beware of the wild turkeys!

This was our fifth stay at Clarkes Beach - after an absence of 10 years - and we weren't disappointed. In the past we had always come and set up camp with our daughters who could never get enough of Byron Bay. This trip it was just the two of us, in a smaller tent. We found many improvements had been made, and many of the sites had been reconfigured. The best thing about this park is that it's right on the beach. You've got the sound of the sea at night, and resident koalas in the trees near your tent, and those weird bush turkeys for entertainment. Some German backpackers in the adjacent tent were startled by the sound the koalas made during the night, but were reassured by the ranger who happened to be passing by. The park is quiet, well-run, and in the best location.

We stayed on an unpowered site in April 2014. Unfortunately I was not advised/warned that Bush Turkeys owned the place. I came home to my tent and realised that they had destroyed it and eaten my food inside which was well sealed. Very disappointed and can't say we'll be back any time soon :(

We have stayed here twice, once in November 2013 and once in November 2012. The location is great, right on the beach. We noticed a big decrease in the standard of our cabin between November 2012 and November 2013. The first time was fantastic, clean well maintained and everything worked perfectly. The next time everything in our cabin was tired. The doors didn't shut properly, neither did the blinds, the hot water in the sink didn't flow freely, the soap holder in the shower was too loose in the wall to hold soap, the cabin had a mouldy smell. It was OK but just not as wonderful as we had remembered from the time before when everything was perfect and clean. You are paying pretty top dollar for a cabin in a non swimming pool park and it just didn't seem worth it this time. We gave all this feedback to the staff on duty at the time but with the exception of the hot water in the sink the rest of the issues remained unsolved during our two week stay.
