Food was delicious, however the bruschetta was below average. The seating inside was noisy but we were lucky enough to get a table out in the covered courtyard so the noise level was lower.
Staff were lovely.

Friendly staff, quick service and excellent food. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for! I would recommend it readily!

Unsatisfied after dinner elsewhere in town, my partner and I headed to the Italian for dessert where we were welcomed with a genuine smile and offered a table under the a heater (having noticed I was cold). We ordered the Tiramisu (my favourite dessert of all time) and a chocolate ganache with toffeed peanuts and banana yogurt icecream. Both desserts were amazingly delicious! Service was prompt and friendly. Atmosphere was great for a Monday night. Had we not eaten Italian food the previous two nights we definitely would have loved to try more dishes off of the menu. Keep it up guys!

This place has a vibe that is hard to pinpoint. You walk in and an upmarket city-type maitre'd welcomes you and takes you to your table, and is followed by a trendy server offering wine options from the see-through "humidifier" type wine cellar which is smack-bang in the centre of the restaurant. Rather intriguing and interesting. The somelier is a font of knowledge and suggested some wines which were really terrific, wines that we have continued to buy since that night, so some good finds there. The food was lovely, we had prawns sizzling in a tomato/chilli sauce in a small black pot, the presentation of each course was all rather exciting. I love the drama of this place, and the black board menu sported some interesting seasonal options too but we opted to try the regular menu and specifically their "signature" dishes on our first visit there. With so much menu choice, we will be back to try some of the blackboard specials which looked rather inviting.... You have a choice of sharing a long dining table or bench/bucket seats (like an old milkbar), so even the seating was interesting, in a good way. A really enjoyable evening, of course followed by a twilight walk on main beach Byron Bay which is across the road. I am not sure that this place is good for couples as the dining room is more like a dining hall and is rather huge (and a bit noisy), but it's a perfect place to go with a group of friends as it's the liveliness and fun of this place that makes is not just a unique dining experience in Byron Bay, but in the whole of Australia. I actually felt like I was in a big dining hall in Europe, Germany maybe, this place is really fun, very cute and certainly memorable. A "must do" when you're next visiting Byron Bay and only 15 mins from us in Bangalow....

This is a great place. Good decor and friendly service. Our waiter was very good in helping with a wine selection. We ate here twice in our two week holiday. The first time we had fish and veal for mains which were both really good. The second time, we had some tasting plates of pork belly and a goats cheese salad to share - flavours were great. We then had the lasagne and Penn. The lasagne is made with slow cooked shredded lamb instead of the usual sloppy mince. It is awesome. We also had dessert which is not usual for us. The gamble paid off as we found some dishes that were taste without being too sickly sweet. One had pineapple and one was a special with mandarin.

Definitely recommend this place. Not your ordinary dodgy Italian pasta joint.
