Seems like a pretty popular place in Byron Bay, just some minutes walk from the beach. The service was welcoming, there were several staff members at work at the time we visited.

We were just visiting here for some coffee and cakes, since we only had a short time in Byron Bay, so we didn´t have any lunch. However, we were situated close to the gas tank, and the surroundings wasn´t very charming.

Our last day was raining so rather than miss lunch we decided to go behind the hotel (Beach Hotel, Bay Lane) to Cool for Cats.
Over the years we have witnessed what appeared to be lots of different owners and we haven't eaten there regularly since the old days. We used to come off the beach and have a yummy grilled chicken breast, tomato, lettuce, avocado, lettuce and mayonnaise baguette and an iced coffee and be back on the beach within the hour, totally satisfied.
The closest I could order today was on focaccio (eeyy!) with avocado spread (eeyy!) loads of mixed lettuce (I emptied most of it) bacon and grilled chicken. Compared to its predecessor, I would only give it a 5/10 however I did enjoy it just not what I remembered.
I accompanied it with a skinny chocolate milkshake which was 10/10

Good coffee and hot chocolate, service was good too. Though the open hours can be a bit off as we tried to go back again and it was closed.

Other then the service everything was pretty good if not for the atmosphere and value. Three staff members including the individual on the till were calling names for coffee orders, two were more than enough but the cashier felt the need to leave their post multiple times to call coffee orders, i was mind blown. There were plenty of tables and a healthy line of people waiting to be served...

The pancakes are 2 die for. The burgers are delightful. A great place to eat and people watch. a very busy place we went to eat a couple of times here, and the staff are very laid back.
