Been coming here for over 20 years, still great value, quiet, friendly and private access to beach make it a winner. Needed a fan heater in downstairs bedroom was only problem as it was cold at night, quickly fixed so very happy.

I stayed here on a solo trip to byron for 4 nights in a 6 bed dorm. I paid about $20 a night which was at least $10 cheaper than every other backpackers. I enjoyed staying here, normally i would opt for the centre of town, but it was actually better to be out of town because the beach which is right out the front of the hostel was practically empty and you could also escape from the busy main beach. You can hire a bike for 2hours for free and it only takes 10 mins to ride in, they also have a courtesy bus but i didnt use it as i had a car. They have surfboards you can use too. The facilities were fine (i didnt cook though) and the rooms get cleaned daily. I didnt end up doing any yoga classes as i did it on the beach by myself but thats a cool thing to have. Theres hammocks scattered around the place too. It seems pretty strict on noise after 9.30pm which was great as i had such good sleep every night even in a 6 bed dorm! The treehouse next door does a good mulled wine, tapas and pizza. I noticed they get musicians in too. The belongi bistro next door does great campos coffee and a tasty brekky. All in all for $20 a night i couldnt be happier! Also a shout out to the nice blonde girl at the front desk who was helpful and friendly

I stayed here for 4 nights with my partner in a private room and wish we could have stayed longer. The hostel is a minutes walk from the beach and about a 15 minute walk along the beach into town. The facilities are great, really clean showers and toilets and a large communal kitchen and living area. The BBQ area outside is really nice and the hammocks are a great way to relax. Our room was clean and cosy. You can hire the bikes for an hour for free and pay a small fee to take them out for longer. Staff were friendly & helpful. Would definitely stay again!

A group of us stayed for 2 nights over the long weekend in June. This was our second stay - the facilities are very clean and we have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The resort is in a great location straight across from the beach and just a short walk from the busy hub of the Byron township, if the ocean is out then it’s a beautiful walk along the beach. There are a couple of great café/restaurants either side of the place so you don’t even need to go into Byron if you don’t want.
The unique point of difference about the resort is that they have a purpose built, on site studio area and a dedicated yoga instructor (Russell) who runs classes 3 times a day – although when we stayed last week it was only twice a day for winter. A real bonus if you love your yoga!
Would definitely recommend a stay at this resort if you are visiting Byron.

The hostel overall is ok. The 4 bed dorm was a decent size. The rooms were pretty clean, however they had a few cats at the hostel which were all over the furniture in the communal areas, making it feel dirty. There was no mention on the website when booking our room about the cats, and had I been aware of them I probably would have found other accomodation. After 11pm we were unable to use any of the facilities at the hostel (tv room, kitchen, communal lounge etc), so unless you are going out, there is nothing to do. There was no atmosphere at the hostel at all. Also when preparing to leave the hostel, I checked under the bed to make sure I had all my belongings and I found a bullet!!! Not the kind of thing I expect.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights and were not overly impressed to be honest. We knew that this was one of the quieter hostels, 20 mins walk from the centre of Byron, but we were not expecting such a hostile environment. Nobody seemed interested in socialising or interacting with each other, even when we made the effort to. Even a half hearted smile would have been nice! The staff were really helpful though as we arrived very early in the morning and were unable to check in till 12, they gave us a key for the facilities so we were able to have a nap in the tv room. The main issues with the hostel is that even though it seemed clean, it always felt really dirty because of the amount of cats laying around and it meant that we couldn't relax on the furniture properly. There was no mention of any animals at the hostel so it's a good job we are not allergy sufferers! The facilities weren't great either. The t.v room was always empty, probably because of the lack of channels, and it was closed from 11pm, so after this time I guess you were just expected to go to bed as there was nothing else to do or any place to relax. The common room and kitchen were also closed as of 10pm. This seems way too early compared to other hostels we have stayed in. However, you weren't able to cook anything unless you gave them a $10 deposit for plates and cutlery which isn't the end of the world, but just a little inconvenience, especially if you don't carry cash around as the nearest atms are in the town. One last issue, is that you had to pay for the wi-fi connection which was extremely expensive at $25 a week given that it is free at most of the hostels we have looked at. Oh, I also found a bullet under my bed which was a little disturbing. In all, I could only recommend this hostel if you are a bit older and are the sort of people who like to keep themselves to themselves and are not too hung up on being sociable, whether it be face to face or online.

This resort was a great find. It is excellent value for money, clean, good service and conveniently located just far enough from the centre of town that you don't get the usual noise but within easy walking distance. We're already trying to plan our return
