“Truly an Oasis Resort”
Reviewed 9 July 2014

As fate would have it (I was on temporary assignment at a local university), I actually lived at the Byron Bay Oasis Resort for 3 months in 3 different rooms, so I can insist that I am something of an expert on the property.

In summary, it lives up to its name as an Oasis Resort. An oasis in the sense of feeling truly away from it all (quiet, greenery, birdsong, surf-sounds), and the amenities (bbq, gym, tennis) qualify it as a Resort. The onsite managers Phil and Lorraine are lovely hosts and were helpful with all my many requests over that time.

Room 9 was my favourite - is contemporary-furnished, Picasso prints on the walls, with front and back decks for outdoor access. The Treetop Houses have even better views/seclusion and although I did not stay in one, from what I saw they living up to their billing.

But what makes the Oasis really special, is the 5 minute access through the Arakwal National Park right onto a vast span of gorgeous secluded beach, just south of the famous lighthouse.
A solid pick for the best of nature, plus access to Byron Bay CBD.

Room Tip: As per my review, if you like contemporary styling select room 9 if available.

The hotel was absolutely picturesque! We stayed at the Treehouse bungalow, which was a modern three store apartment with a beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean in Byron Bay! The spa and seat places on the balcony was super cosy and definitely fitting for everyone! Much love from and for the staff! Definitely a worth a stay - Treat!!

Room Tip: For more exclusivity choose a treehouse bungalow! Prefect for families, honeymooners, couples or a g...

We stayed here for a wedding that was being held at another resort in Byron. We were extremely pleased we chose this resort for our weekend. It was a lovely retreat situated perfectly in Byron. Even though we were only there for two nights we took advantage of the great facilities. The rooms were very clean and looked recently renovated. We had a few lights that were playing up but this did not detract from a great room. This little treasure in Byron was definitely value for money.

This truly is Byron Bay’s best kept secret when it comes to accommodation!

The Oasis Apartments & Treetop Houses is a fantastic place to stay! It’s the colours that truly strike me as stunning - the green grasses, the bright treetops, combined with the mahogany buildings – such a beautiful contrast and certainly providing a forest feeling.

It has everything you could ever need – it really does. A beautiful looking pool, the gym has a deck outside with a BBQ overlooking the pool area – and around the other side of the building is the games room – which seems to have everything, including stairs leading to a TV room (where the roof is also apparently home to a friendly carpet snake), and a section perfect for under 2s.

The treehouses are the ideal escape. Set high on the hillside, you can see ocean on the horizon from left to right. The treehouses themselves are magical and I can imagine relaxing on the deck-spa in one of these, glass of wine in hand, watching the whales passing by during whale season. It certainly has the view for it! Further up the hill are the Vue Beach Houses. With 3 bedrooms, gourmet kitchen, spacious balcony and truly magnificent ocean views – if you’re coming with a group of friends or your family, these are ideal.

Oh, and for food, if you don't want to drive in town, there are a couple of local restaurants that will deliver!

I would highly recommend The Oasis to anyone coming to Byron Bay. Not only is the accommodation fantastic, but so are your hosts! Lorraine and Phil certainly know how you make you feel at home.

And all of this is just a couple of minutes drive to the heart of Byron itself!

I stayed here with a friend for the weekend. Sure, it has a load of rules, but the rules make for a lovely place to stay. We stayed in Kingfisher treetop house, which was great. It had two bedrooms (one en suite), a fantastic kitchen/dining room and a large lounge area. The main bathroom has a washing machine in it. The deck was the real plus, but the only downside was the hot tub wasn't functional.

A welcome pack of local breakfast stuff is provided as well as household basics. There is a supermarket on the road from Byron Bay to Oasis. It's about a twenty minute walk in to the centre of Byron Bay.

The facilities are brilliant and the recreation areas are well maintained and cleaned.

We stayed for 12 days at the Oasis Resort and found the accommodation very comfortable. The pool, BBQ area, games room and tennis court were great for the kids. Tallow beach was beautiful for long walks, with family surf beaches only a short drive away by car.
We were very well looked after by the managers Lorraine and Phil who do an excellent job of maintaining the resort and made sure our stay was comfortable. They uphold a peaceful environment.

We stayed in an apartment and found it was lovely and very well equipped. Beds were fantastic and resort facilities excellent. bit of a walk to the beach through a nature strip and no lifesavers there, but for us that didn't matter, and the lovely resort feel and gardens made up for that. Quick drive into town for interesting shopping trip and main beach. Great weekend adventure location as base for crystal castle, markets, lighthouse and beach walks. If I returned with family I would book the houses next time, they look amazing.
