Convenient to beach but the backpackers on the other side of the road didn't stop the music until midnight. Reception said that I could have phoned security as their desk is closed from 6pm and the backpackers are supposed to close at 10pm. Not much help in the middle of the night after hearing a thumping bass beat in the room from 7pm.

Thank you for your review of Waves. We are sorry that you were disturbed by music from Aquarius Backpackers.
They do stop music usually at 10pm but due to the festive season, music went on a little longer than usual.
Reception is manned until 7pm but we have a private security company that will attend to any noise/disturbance issues if required.
We do advise guests staying in rooms to close their doors and switch on the air conditioning if they like to retire early.
We do hope that you will consider staying with us again - I guarantee that you will not regret it. We have rooms located away from the road where all you can hear is the ocean.

Kind regards
The Team at Waves

This hotel was one of the best I've stayed at. The only down side was the lack of cooking facilities, for a week stay we couldn't eat out every day and housekeeping was very basic and the cups and mugs were sometimes not replaced.

Thank you for your review of Waves Byron Bay. We are delighted that you thought our hotel was one of the best you have stayed at as we certainly try hard to please our guests.

We are a AAA rated 4 star boutique style property and do not advertise cooking facilities in our Boutique, Deluxe or State Suites. We do, however, have cooking facilities in our Waves Suite (in the form of a Teppanyaki Barbecue) and both of our Penthouses have fully equipped kitchens.

Perhaps when you stay with us again, you could book one of these. We also have 3 star apartments which have cooking facilities.

Our housekeeping team service all rooms every day and we also have a selection of glasses, cups, plates and cutlery which is made available to all our guests should they require it.

We look forward to the opportunity of greeting you again at Waves!

It's a little pricey but worth the stay. The cleanliness of the hotel and service provided by the receptionists was exceptional. You are offered extra services such as books, DVDs, boogie boards and bucket and spades for your children.
It's a close walk to the beach, shops and they have a lot of information about local tourist attractions.
Loved the complimentary muffins and coffee in the morning. Great way to start the day.

Thank you so much for your lovely review of Waves, Byron Bay.
We are delighted that you appreciated the cleanliness and the service provided by our team. Our extra services, provided free of charge, are appreciated by all our guests, especially the young ones! (and the young at heart!). Our complimentary breakfast is very popular!

Our location is possibly the best in Byron for the beach, shops and restaurants.
We look forward to greeting you again at Waves in the future.

Thanks again

The hotel is in an ideal place, just a few steps from main beach, and an easy walk to the centre of town.
The room was spacious and very comfortable. Super comfy bed, really good air con!
The staff could not be more helpful. I had a bit of car problem and they helped sort it out in no time.

Byron is one of the nicest places on the planet. Beautiful beaches, great places to eat (veggie food is delicious and normal!).but you have to do things in Byron time. It is a very laid back place.

I hope to return again soon.

Waves is very well located but it is expensive for what you get. This was my first visit back to BB since i was very young so i was really hoping for a wow experience. Room was good but a bit bland, and nothing really inviting about it. The muffins and coffee in the lobby were quaint but i must say a bit under-whelming in the overall scheme of things. An expensive two nights I must say..

Thank you for your review of Waves, Byron Bay.

You are right, our location is the best in town! Only minutes from Main Beach, restaurants and shops. From your room, you would have been able to hear the ocean too!

We are a four star AAA rated property and get fantastic reviews for our comfort, staff and decor so I am surprised that you found 'nothing really inviting about us'.

The 'light start to the day' of locally made muffins, coffee, tea, fruit and orange juice is provided free of charge to our guests and is very popular indeed.
We are in a busy period, probably due to the fact that the sun always seems to shine here, and we think our rates are competitive and reflect prices locally.

We hope to greet you again at Waves Byron Bay!

I just recently returned from Byron Bay where a friend had recommended Waves at Byron, it was a fabulous place to stay.
Beautifully decorated large rooms so clost to everything, main street, restaurants , the lighthouse walk, and shops etc.
The staff were so accommodating and I love the coffee and muffins ,
The wine by the fire at 5 was such a lovely touch and makes such a difference.
Thoroughly recommend waves and very affordable.

Thank you so much for your wonderful review of Waves Byron Bay!
We do have one of the best and most convenient locations in Byron Bay that's for sure and people love our suites - especially the marble bathrooms!
We are sorry that you found the muffins too heavy for you. They are made locally and we generally have four different flavours to choose from.

We believe in value for money - that is why our room prices are based on two person occupancy with only a supplement for any guests exceeding two.

And thank you for complementing our staff. We pride ourselves on excellent customer service here!
We look forward to greeting you at Waves again!

This is a very good option. The location is FAB, only a few mins walk to the ocean and the town. The rooms are more like little suites with a huge bed, dining table and a sofa. A huge marble bathroom with a lovely big bath and a walk in shower. My room was on the ground floor in the corner and had its own little garden which was very pleasant to sit out in. There is no pool, but the beach is a short walk away.

The only downside is the breakfast. The muffins were too heavy for me, and I LOVE cake! First thing in the morning it was a struggle to tackle one and in the end I gave up. They were stodgy and heavy and the selection was poor, as you only had one choice each day. During the fours days they had two varieties, either berry and custard or apple. Also there was no single room supplement, which I was surprised at, but on the whole this place is good value so I was not too put out by this. Perhaps some pastries as well as muffins or a banana as well as apples?

The staff are wonderful, very helpful and friendly. I really recommend a stay here when you visit Byron.
