“A great beach escape.”

Our room was large with a separate bedroom. It had everything we needed. We loved the BBQ by the pool. Staff were very friendly and when we rebooked for a further stay we were given a discount. Excellent value in a great spot, you can walk to everything from here.

Room Tip: We asked for a room with a sunny balcony and possible views. The room was on the first floor and the...

BreakFree Eco Beach has good location within easy strolling distance of town and beach. We stayed in a well equipped one bedroom unit with everything that one would want. There was also a pool and a barbecue area which we didn't use and ample under building parking (even if the spaces were a bit awkward to manouvre into at times!
The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful.
The unit was genuinely clean and well presented with one exception. When we went to cook our first meal the frypan was greasy as were the plates and cutlery - we had to wash the dishes before we could eat anything. However, this was put right immediately on our reporting it and was handled well by staff. It is, however, just not acceptable and part of the blame must go to management - they provide just one sachet of dishwash liquid (with others available at $1). We purchased a whole bottle for a dollar at the supermarket and I can't figure out why BreakFree can't do the same. Apparently dishes are checked but new cleaning staff ..... whatever.
I'd recommend this property - the manner in which they handled the issue we had was first class and I can't see it happening again given the embarrassment it caused.
I guess the value depends on the 'deal' you get - we got a good deal.

Only 5 minutes walk out of the main Byron shopping/cafe/restaurant strip? Yes please! The location for this hotel is extremely handy.

We stayed in a studio room - bed, lounge and kitchenette were all fantastic. Our unit also had a fairly new reverse-cycle air con which was very handy on one particularly chilly day. The layout of the resort does mean some weird shapes for room layouts and unfortunately the entry into the room and bathroom suffered the most out of this. The bathroom was extremely small and a very awkward triangle shape, and as per previous comments I have read, it is difficult to hang 2 towels to dry in this small space.

Our only real complaint was that the curtains in the room did not block out light completely - my partner commented that the lights inside the grounds were on all night and subsequently shone through the gaps in the curtains and make sleep difficult.

We wuold definitely consider this resport again the next time we visit Byron Bay.

Thanks so much for your detailed review. It is great to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. The bathrooms in the one bedrooms tend to be larger than the studios, also the studios on the eastern side tend to have larger bathrooms. I will look into the lighting, as it should be on a timer at night and only come on to light the way when guests require it. BreakFree Eco Beach is located far enough away from the hustle & bustle of town but only a level 7 minute walk to all Byron has to offer. Regards, Sharon Coleman, General Manager

We stayed for 5 nights in a 1 bedroom with an adjoining studio. This was perfect for our needs. We had asked for a sunny balcony & our rooms were on the sunny side at the back of the complex & we even had a view of the water through the trees! All of the rooms are in close proximity to the central pool, spa & BBQ.It's no more than an easy, relatively flat 10 minute walk to the centre of town & the beach.Woolworths is a 15 minute walk. Reception was friendly & helpful.Parking is undercover & secure. Our apartments were clean & spacious. It was out first time in beautiful, vibrant Byron Bay & we would definitely consider staying here again when we return.

The reception staff was friendly. The 1 bedroom room was spacious, clean, but plain and had a sewer smell. Kitchen well equipped. The lounge wall hanging was missing which detracted from decor. Seems towels are skimped on. Two bath towels but only one wash cloth and 1 hand towel and 1 kitchen towel. Rooms aren't serviced unless you stay 8 nights so seems they could have given a few more towels. Internet is pricey so we did without. TV sound was poor quality. Room on the backside was quiet. Walk to town was along busy noisy road but not long. Parking was secure and convenient. To avoid a cleaning fee, need to leave the dishes cleaned and trash taken to bins. So some good and some not so good, average.

Room Tip: Our room on backside was quiet.

Thanks for rating BreakFree Eco Beach and for commenting. It is great to hear you enjoyed our friendly service. Byron Bay is a small bustling coastal village visited by travellers worldwide. We are located on the northern entrance to the town and only a seven minute walk to everything Byron Bay has to offer. With any issues experienced, reception should be made aware immediately so that they can attend to them as soon as possible. Our aim is to ensure all guests have a positive experience. As self catering apartments, guests are asked to leave their rooms neat and tidy and that includes doing dishes and removing rubbish. We look forward to seeing you again. Stayed here last weekend. A nice resort with clean and comfortable facilities. Good pool, spa and BBQ area, although wondering if the pool would be a bit small if visiting in summer. Spa is awesome. Lovely, helpful staff. Short walk to town and beach although it's a shame that beach access isn't a little closer- not too far though! Bed was a bit hard for my liking but that's just a personal preference! Great value for money given proximity to beach and town, facilities and cleanliness. There are workmen who start work on the roof at 8am on weekdays but this is just short term and didn't really bother us. If you like to sleep in this might be worth asking about for the next week or two. Overall a great visit!

Thanks for your comments regarding your stay at BreakFree Eco Beach. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your stay despite the roof works. We have been given a completion date of the 18th July 2014. This is however, weather dependant. As guests are usually out and about during the day the works have not intruded too much on their stay. To ensure guest awareness the works have been advertised since the middle of May, approximately 1 month prior to commencement. I will pass on your comments regarding the cleanliness to our team and look forward to seeing you again soon. Regards, Sharon Coleman, General Manager

Stayed here in June 2014 with my 7mth girl for two nights. The staff were helpful in assisting a mum travelling on her own and the portacot was in the room upon arrival with cute brand-new linen.

Tip: if booking a portacot please ask for it to be set up prior to arrival. As a frazzled mum desperate for baby to have a sleep I was a smudge disappointed to not have it set up. Upon request the GM came and set it up within five mins.

Location: lovely wee walk to town

Noise: like some other comments the road noise was audible. We were in 2A almost on the corner of the main road and the side street.

Comfy bed and couch/easy chair
