Myself and 2 girlfriends stayed in a 2brm family room for one night. Check-in was friendly and the room was spacious and well fitted out for a family, with plenty of space and there was even toys and books in the 2nd room for kids (though my girlfriends did feel a little strange sleeping under Dora and Buzz Lightyear quilts lol). The motel is an easy 5 min walk from town and has a path direct to the beach (did feel a little like Bear Grylls negotiating it though). Overall a great experience, I'd stay here again.

I stayed 2 nights. The first night I arrived late, after reception closed. I messaged the hotel ahead and was advised my key would be waiting for me under the mat in front of my room, and to check in next morning. This tired traveller really appreciated the friendly gesture. I also had the room with access for those with limited mobility. The bathroom was fitted with rails. The room was airy, clean and comfy. The beach is only a short distance behind the hotel, on the other side of the coastal reserve. The sounds of sea and surf lulled me to sleep each night. (Behind the hotel a path gives access to the beach. However this crosses disused rail lines and at the end there is a steep climb on loose sand to get out onto the beach).

Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room. Parking available in front of the room.

Room=motel style ground level, very clean/comfortable,tea/coffee/biscuits/sugar provided, even real milk in a small jug was handed to me on booking in at reception ! You can order a continental light breakfast if you want.Off Street parking provided in front of your motel room..An ashtray ( for us smokers)is provided outside your room on a side table with two chairs either side : ) Nice swimming pool, bbq area. WoW ! not many of the old style hospitality motels left in this beautiful country of ours. Very friendly down to earth/helpful staff. Great location,on the left handside on the main road driving into Byron from Paciifc Hwy..we walked into/and around town approx ( 5 minute walk at my slower pace into town) We enjoyed our mini stay and yes I would book into the Wollongbar Motel again when we get the oppotunity to go and visit Byron Bay !!
Thankyou for a lovely stay : )

I stayed in this motel as i could not get the hostel i wanted. This motel is in a great location 5 mins walk from centre of byron bay but in a quiet area. The rooms are spacious we booked a room for 2 and we got a double bed and bunk beds! the facilities in the room are great microwave toaster plates cutlery fridge tv and aircon couldnt ask for more. The rooms were cleaned every day . The staff were great very friendly and helpful organised airport transfers for us. The beach is also 5 mins walk so everything is very close by. There is a lovely pool and pool area with sunbeds although most people go to the beach its nice to have this option. I cant recommend this motel enough and its where i will stay the next time i go to byron bay.

Room Tip: we were in room 1 not sure if all rooms are the same but ours had double and bunk beds didnt pay any...

Motel was situated just a 5 min walk from the main street of Byron Bay, had it's own pool and pathway down to the beach, but as it was raining when I was there I didn't use any of these options. Friendly staff, big rooms and comfertable beds. Tea and coffeemaker, fridge and simpy kitchen supplies. Bathroom was big but not very nice, with dark spots on the wall and showercurtain.

All in all a good motel, ok priced for Byron Bay, if they upgrade their bathrooms a bit it would be an excellent choice.

We go to Byron bay twice a year (from Brisbane) and we like this hotel.
No luxury like a 5 star hotel but after all the hotel reflect the price.
We usually stay 3 nights and we pay $119 a night.
Everything is closed, the beach the town and the shopping.
What else can you have?

Looks great from outside.. But was disappointed. We paid $169 for 1 bedroom family room. The door to the bedroom jammed which had I'm sure had many times in the past as the skin was coming away from the door. The bathroom door wouldn't shut either . The water jug in the fridge had a big black hair on it. The fridge in the main area which is also the main bedroom was very noisy.
The unit did not feel clean. Close to town for walking , which was convenient . We only stayed one night thank goodness ..
