“Even better than the photos!”

This place exceeded our expectations. There were 13 of us in the house for a long weekend. The house sleeps 14, I assumed that some of the beds may be sofa beds or camp beds, but this place is all proper beds, comfy ones too. There are a couple of doubles and the rest of singles.

The place is huge, plenty of space for you to enjoy so you're not on top of each other at any point. It has a big well stocked kitchen, big dining facilities and a couple of bathrooms. It has plenty of outdoor space including a balcony and a large outdoor table next to the BBQ.

It's a short walk from the beach or the nice bars in the town.

The only minus point is that the hot tub is a little too small to be all that useful unless there's just a couple of you.

If there's a big group of you looking to spend a weekend in Byron then this will work a treat!

Great joint - close to the beach and Byron facilities. Ample room for fmailes with kids who enjoyed the table tennis table downstairs. Area upstairs with large deck great for time to relax for the adults. Well shaded

“Stunning House, Great Location!”

I cannot say enough about my stay at Skye Lodge! I had been arranging a family reunion, I had contacted the property manager who was extremely helpful and attentive to the requests we had! On arrival the property blew us away! Very grand, spacious, clean and very well presented. The property manager met us as we checked in and made sure there was nothing else needed for our stay. It was in a great location, tucked away from the noise of the town but still within walking distance to the shops and beaches.
We will be returning to this beautiful house early next year to live the life of luxury of another week!

“Some one else living ther!!!”

Property was run down, noisy and someone was living in the garage. It looked like they just tried to make as many bedrooms as possible. Spa was disgusting. Not ideal given cost and 'seclusion'. In fact it was in surburbia in with hippy neighbours that complained the whole time. Would never stay there again

Management Response

Skye Lodge Byron Bay has been operating as a holiday business for over four years. We have several reviews on other websites that are relevant for the house. This group of guests were the worst group we have ever had through the property and I suspect that this review is payback for us evicting them from the property after less than a 12 hour stay. This group was a Bucks party - they broke all terms and conditions, disturbed the peace all night by their excessive drinking, breaking beer bottles, urinating off the balcony, and extreme disrespect for the property and surrounding neighbours. Byron Bay as a whole does not tolerate such behaviour, and we had the support of the Holiday Letting Association, as well as the local Police, to evict them from our property. If there is anyone wishing to book this property, we ask that you contact us directly for relevant guest reviews, of which we have many.

To address directly the accusations of this review - the property is an old Queenslander which has been renovated four years ago. We have an on-site caretaker available for guests who is living in an apartment on the property (completely separate from this house). We take extreme pride in the way the house is presented and furnished - it is always clean, we have hotel quality beds and linen, and the furniture, amenities and kitchen are all very modern and certainly not run down (again please contact us if you would like us to send you photos of the property before you book). Byron Bay is an underdeveloped community which prides itself on the absence of hotel development. As such, most of the holiday accommodation is in residential houses, which most of our guests enjoy, especially staying in big groups. All bedrooms at Skye Lodge have either queen beds or king beds are very spacious.

It is unfortunate that this review by an extremely disgruntled guest made it onto the system - we are trying to have it removed due to the above points.

Kind regards, Owner and Management
