Description: Meters back from legendary main beach, Balcony Bar & Oyster Co sits perched high above the hustle and bustle of Byron Bays busy streets. This heritage listed building is reminiscent of a seaside beach house. The signature wrap around deck captures the setting sun and is the perfect place to tuck into some freshly shucked oysters with an icy cold beer or a glass or rose. Executive Chef Sean Connolly has prepared a menu reflecting his signature style of cooking; simple, approachable and where possible on the bone or in the shell, allowing the produce to speak for itself. Balcony Bar & Oyster Co. exudes a neighbourhood spot where you can drop by anytime for a drink with friends and a few oysters or small plates.

I organised cocktails & tapas for a group of girlfriends for my best mates 'hens' doo. We had an area set aside for us and had pre booked tapas. It was the start of the night, and we were all excited but none of us wasted or anything. We were moved to a corner and after spending over $1000 and being there less than an hour were asked to 'please sssshhhh'. I was shocked at how we were treated, especially as this was my friends special evening, we had pre booked. It was really disappointing, as we truly were well behaved- just chatting, eating, drinking, laughing- as you do. Left a bad taste in our mouth. Food was quite good- and cocktails nice & it was a lively atmosphere- until we were told to sshhh (in a rude not friendly way). Just a shame how we were treated!

Nice place to sit & enjoy the vista. We were lucky - we were served quickly & the meals were delicious! We were there at peak period too - like 7.30pm. We didn't have a booking but there was only 2 of us so it didn't take long even though it was packed. The staff were friendly & the whole ambience is lovely, but the balcony view is something you must experience. A must do while in Byron Bay!!

A good restaurant for watching the world go by.
Young, polite staff who liked to chat.
Service a little low,but the food was worth waiting for.
Salt and pepper squid as a starter were great.
Our steaks were the best we have ever had.
Cooked to perfection.
Objected to all the reasonably priced red wines being sold out.
Wine was expensive, was almost tempted to go downstairs to the liquor store and buy my own
as the restaurant should cater for all budgets.
All said,an enjoyable experience.

Last day in Byron and just wanted to have a cocktail before leaving, placed myself on a stool on the outdoor balcony over looking the roundabout below and relaxed enjoying the passing street crowds, loved the wood finishes country style interior, service was a bit all over the place as no one was sure who was serving me so hope they are quicker when it comes to providing service for people who are planning to have a meal.
But overall I enjoy sitting in a casual environment on the outdoor balcony.
