Description: Meters back from legendary main beach, Balcony Bar & Oyster Co sits perched high above the hustle and bustle of Byron Bays busy streets. This heritage listed building is reminiscent of a seaside beach house. The signature wrap around deck captures the setting sun and is the perfect place to tuck into some freshly shucked oysters with an icy cold beer or a glass or rose. Executive Chef Sean Connolly has prepared a menu reflecting his signature style of cooking; simple, approachable and where possible on the bone or in the shell, allowing the produce to speak for itself. Balcony Bar & Oyster Co. exudes a neighbourhood spot where you can drop by anytime for a drink with friends and a few oysters or small plates.

Very disappointing breakfast. The coffee was only just lukewarm and my friend's chai tea was undrinkable. The bacon was very fatty and undercooked. Very sweet young waitress, but really had no idea about quality food. We won't be back - and we are locals.

Without a booking on a Friday night we (six adults and nine teens) were lucky and pleased to be accommodated on two tables (one for adults and one for kids) right next to each other. The adults ordered 9 serves of tapas, two bottles of wine, and some beers. Our young adults ordered a mix of mains and tapas, with extras, and some sot drinks. Unfortunately the adults were fed some 20-30 minutes earlier than the kids so we were finished before they even received their food. Our food was very tasty, with some tapas more popular than others. When the food finally arrived at the kids table it was quickly devoured with all of them thoroughly enjoying their meals, however ALL of them were still hungry. When we left, they all went downstairs and bought more food from street outlets. With a total bill at The Balcony of more than $560 for 15 of us, can't say we were all that thrilled.

Despite the fact that we weren't full, and that the kids were served so late, the food was very tasty and presented beautifully. Favorites were the mussels, the beetroot salad, squid, and pork belly.

If you are there with a big group, make sure you order around 2-3 tapas per person, or if having a main, you will need an entree as well and/or some sides.

We were a group of 9 for breakfast after an invigourating walk up to the Lighthouse, so arrived 10:30ish. The Balcony is welcoming with a roaring fire inside... we choose to sit outside on the actual Balcony and were very comfortable. Service is efficient and friendly, happy to work 'around' the menu... eg, the best breakfast I had in Byron was here.... Scrambled eggs on toasted sourdough with avocado on the side... presentation on a wooden board and hot and delicious. Chai tea prononunced to be delicious... and mugs of flat white generous and hot.
The restaurant was not busy, and they were able to deliver all 9 meals together which was lovely and appreciated by all as we were hungry!! We had a very nice experience and will be back!~

The 3 must haves were met! Service, food, atmosphere! We booked a table for the 6 of us, which is highly recommended! They get very very busy. We had 3 waitresses more than happy to serve us with a smile. Drinks were quickly delivered & were delicious. Food took 20mins to be delivered which was quick considering how busy it was. The food was absolutely sensational! Great all-round experience!
