“WELL DONE GEORGIE, HOSTESS EXTRAORDINAIRE”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2013

We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful ground floor bure with the charming hostess, Georgie treating us as if we were guests in her home. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are beautiful (although small). The complimentary bottled water each day, plus a welcoming bottle of bubbles and beer were very much appreciated. My husband was very happy with Georgie’s freshly baked muffins each day. I was delighted that there was fresh fruit on hand whenever I wanted. Georgie ensured that the bure always had a selection of teas, coffees, cd's, magazines, cookies and top quality Loccitane toiletries. We were offered Wifi as soon as we booked in. We tended to buy gourmet take-away for the evening. This was made easy as the bure has plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses, all of which were later washed and returned to us by Georgie. We thought it a wonderful idea that Georgie supplies a $40.00 voucher for each day at a different café, which can be used for any meal. Each café had character and fabulous food that we would not otherwise have experienced .
The property is across the road from a park, the beach and a walking track along the beach. It is also close to town, restaurants, cafes and the Hotel. Very convenient for us as my husband has bad knees and cannot walk long distances. The location enhanced our stay.

I am surprised at the gentleman who thought the booking arrangements inflexible. Most bed and breakfast accommodation will not allow cancellation without 30 days notice as it would be too late to rebook.

Room Tip: If you have trouble walking up stairs, request the only ground floor bure.

Excellent stay, great location, beautiful rooms and tasty muffins. Everything catered for by Georgi, including beach towels, beach shelters/ umbrellas, surf board lock up, nothing was an inconvenience. We stayed for our honeymoon and had a very relaxing time in beautiful Byron Bay.

We stopped off at the Bure on our trip up the East Coast of Australia for two nights in January. Two couples, there was another couple stopping there at the time as well. Now I've read all the reviews on this site but I have to agree with the chap who thought it expensive. It was for us the most expensive accomadation we rented in Australia. I can't say a bad word about Georgi or the actual bure's, but the location isn't as ideal as you might think, the gate opens on to a main road. As for those people who say it's nice to hear the waves of the Pacific Ocean at night, they must have good hearing! When we were looking for places to stay in Byron Bay we did find the whole town more expensive than any where else we planned to stay, so may be you do have to pay more in Byron, especially at holiday time.As said Georgi is a lovely host, but value for money it isn't.

We love these gorgeous beachy bures. It was our second stay here and things just keep getting better. Georgie is a gracious and generous host. Everything from sunscreen to beach chairs and even freshly baked muffins were offered up to us. With the Pacific Ocean outside your door and the beautiful Byron township a few minutes walk away, you really couldn't ask for more. The beds are super comfy and all the inclusions in the bure, brilliant. A large selection of teas, cd's, mags, Loccitane toiletries, even plates and cutlery for little morsels you buy in town to enjoy in the garden. Not to mention complimentary bottled water and a beer and little bottle of bubbles too. We loved the vouchers for the cafes in Byron, all were delicious and if you didn't want to use them for breakfast, no biggie, you could enjoy a lunch or dinner with them, great idea. Check out was 11 but Georgie was happy for us to stay till 1pm. Honestly, we holiday in Byron at least once a year and this is our favourite. If you are booking a bure here, I am jealous, but in a good way :)

This is a brilliant place to stay in Byron. Across the road from the beach, close enough to all the shops and hustle and bustle of the hub of Byron, without all the traffic and noise on your doorstep. Georgi, the host is a wonderfully generous host with impeccable attention to detail. Would highly recommend!

The best place to stay in Byron Bay. Rooms are beautiful, location is second to none, lots of extras supplied like breakfast vouchers, beach towels, sun cream and beach umbrellas. The host will also help you out if you need anything else. She even supplied champagne for my birthday! Thanks for a great stay Georgie. Hopefully we'll be back soon.

We have just returned from Byron Beach Bure.

Overall I'd rank it ok, not worth the cost.
Compared to other >$350 per night accommodation it doesn't hold a candle.

Small room, 4 star standard. No wifi, no daily servicing, no cable TV - not what you expect from 5 star.
Essentially this is a B&B - if you don't love being in a B&B environment give this one a miss. We felt like the owner was always monitoring our movements which we personally don't like.

Positives include: Beach towels/umbrellas/tents etc given to guests, breakfast vouchers (albeit I'd prefer to pay $40 less per night and choose where I eat), cool environment - our bure was above a pond, clean etc.

Negatives: B&B, not really on the beach (it's across a road and a park), no view, NO WIFI and very inflexible booking conditions, room was 4 star standard, certainly not 5, no daily servicing of the room (no wifi and no daily servicing not really good enough for a $380 / night hotel room), no flexibility on check-out time.

We changed our dates once but were told to cancel we needed to give 30 days notice - I get it, but for people paying $700 for a weekend need flexibility.

In all I'm unlikely to return - if you like B&B's and don't mind paying top dollar (in Byron Bay standards) for 4* it's a good choice.

Room Tip: The bure over the pond appeared to be smallest, but had much more privacy than the one on the ground...
