Sandholme Guesthouse
Ranked #5 of 6 Huskisson B&B and Inns
Reviewed 20 November 2012

Sandholme is the best B&B experience I've ever had.

Alan and Christine, the owners, are so friendly and just delightful. They were very accommodating with our late arrival, helpful in telling us about the area and things to do, and just so pleasant to talk to. And they have thought of EVERYTHING. There's garage parking, tour info, a candy jar, a huge DVD collection, an array of homemade jams, mini fridges in the room with chilled glasses....I mean, the list goes on. Our room was clean and comfortable too. And the best part is there are individual breakfast tables so you don't have to awkwardly socialize with the other guests (my least favorite part of B&Bs usually). If we go back to the area we'd definitely stay at Sandholme again!

The room was warm, clean and comfortable. Although our view was nothing to rave about, we weren't there for the bedroom view. They were located walking distance from town. Christine and Alan were quite knowledgeable about the area. The breakfasts were warm and delicious.

If you like B&Bs, make this place a must visit if you are in Jervis Bay. The hosts are lovely, decent people, and they help make you feel most welcome when you arrive without being intrusive like some can be. It's conveniently located near the centre of Huskisson, so you never have to travel far for anything. The house itself is spacious, and you never feel like your space is being intruded upon by other guests. Price is on the high side for this area, but still great value considering the standard of service if you are after a true 5 star experience. Well worth it in my view.

We stayed 2 nights in this gorgeous B&B in september, as part of a short visit to Australia. Alan and Christine make sure you feel welcome and will provide you with all the information and help you need. This includes booking a restaurant or whale watching tour, but also suggestions for places to visit. We absolutely loved the area and would have liked to stay longer. Delicious breakfast and many movies to watch in your own bedroom.

We could not fault Sandholme Guesthouse, the Hosts were very obliging, and friendly, the room was beautiful, very comfortable bed, loved the en-suite bathroom with the spa, we were only there one night, but would be happy to stay longer.
I thought the price was reasonable compared to other places we looked at, other places were much more expensive if we only wanted to stay 1 night, looking forward to returning next year, wouldn't bother looking anywhere else.
We loved everything about the Guesthouse, close to everything by car. Highly recommend it, you won't be disappointed.

Although the Sandholme is a bit pricey, we were glad we stayed in Jenny's room as it had a wonderful spa tub and very comfortable bed. Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful, and breakfast was ample. The decor inside and landscaping outside were impeccable. I would certainly stay there again. We did get lucky (depending on if you call this luck), and were able to spot a kangaroo in the woods across from the Sandholme! I will say though that if you would like a short stroll to town, it's a little too far for that.

Sandholme is a very pleasant and comfortable upmarket B & B that should not be confused with a five star hotel as it has very limited facilities. The kitchen, dining room and lounge are all one very large open plan area which is not apparent from their website. It's location also leaves a bit to be desired if you are staying longer than a couple of nights. It is in the middle of a very average housing estate with no views of any interest. Huskisson is only a few minutes drive away with a variety of shops and very good restaurants.

Bedrooms are spacious with ornately decorated but tasteful en-suite bathrooms. The beds are very comfortable with high quality bedding.

The owners are very helpful. Church does come first on a Sunday morning and this can dictate breakfast times. This did not cause us a problem as the breakfasts are very substantial and we simply opted for breakfast at 11.00am and dismissed lunch!

Wouldn't hesitate to return depending on the price. Normal rates are a little on the high side for a B & B. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would certainly recommend Sandholme.
