We loved everything about LHI and Ebbtide. Emma & Julie did a great job of taking care of us. The apartments were well appointed and very clean. There was a "transit" room where we could borrow backpacks, snorkeling gear, books, sunscreen, bug spay, etc. Washer/dryer were available too. There was an honor system for wine & beer and their prices were very reasonable.

The walk down to Ned's Beach from Ebbtide is not to be missed. The grounds are beautiful too.

We will definitely be back. Thanks Emma & Julie!

We stayed for a week in January and found Ebbtide to be an excellent base on Lord Howe. It is a 10-15min walk into town or 5-10 mins to Neds Beach. Our apartment was one of three joined together, yet the clever layout meant we never heard our neighbours at all and the only noise at night is that of the mutton birds! Julie and Emma are great hosts and very helpful and knowledgeable. Free wifi was a great bonus as was the provision of reef shoes, snorkels, fins etc at no cost. The apartment had a separate cooking area, balcony, outside seating area and BBQ. The gardens are beautifully kept and house nesting terns as well as providing fresh bananas. Whilst the price may initially seem expensive when compared to the mainland, it is very good value for money indeed in comparison with other accommodation on the island. We would happily return.

Had an amazing two weeks at Ebbtide. Lovely gardens and a great location, only minutes walk from Ned's beach and right near Topshop. Clean, tidy and well equipped rooms with great decks. There is also a little veggie patch to help your self to. Overall, a fabulous stay!

We spent a very comfortable an peaceful week at ebbtide. Comfortable, clean and spacious room set in beautiful gardens. Short walk to Ned's beach and Topshop close by for supplies. Small hill didn't bother us but would be a pain if you had very young children.beer and soft drinks available as well as frozen fish - BBQ outside the room was good. Would stay again for sure

If you're heading to Lord Howe then stay here. We stayed at a couple of different places on the island, but found this to be the best. Heaps tidy rooms, really good outside areas to cook and chill out and everything you need in the rooms. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfy. The Kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom as well. It's only a short walk down a tropical garden path to Neds Beach and if you have a pushy, then everything else is a short ride away. Out of everything that could make a holiday awesome, it was the hosts that really impressed us. Emma is always around to check that everything is well and give you a lift anywhere on the island if needed. Always made sure we had the stuff needed for a snorkel or whatever we had planned for that day! I recommend that if you head to Lord Howe, stay at Ebbtide and get to know both the hosts of this lovely place! The units are a bit more secluded than others and this only enhances the stay. Nina and I had a killer time, cheers Ebbtide!

On arrival what a welcoming sight with fresh hibiscus and frangipanis decorating our apartment and outdoor area. It was difficult to leave the sunny deck overlooking the peaceful, private tropical gardens and although Ebbtide is at the top of a challenging climb, we didn't find it a problem and often took the Neds Beach option through the bush track. A real treat were our sundowners through the garden overlooking the beach and islands. Julie & Emma have included so many thoughtful extras to ensure their guests to this most beautiful Island, enjoy every minute...thank you again ladies.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at Ebbtide, and whilst we have nothing else to compare it to, we had an perfectly relaxing stay here. We chose a garden unit which was very spacious, light, airy and well equipped. Ebbtide is situated on a moderate hill, but this suited us fine, as after making it back to the unit each evening by bike, we felt no guilt in indulging in the wonderful food and wine that the island has to offer!

Emma and Julie are friendly hosts and were really helpful from the moment we landed, nothing seemed too much trouble.

The fish feeding at Neds Beach beach was a highlight, but we did a few tours whilst we were there including: the Mt Gower climb (only accessible with a guide). It's a tough 8hr return climb, hands and knees in places and ropes to help pull you up. It's not for the faint-hearted, and we'd advise that you do have to be fairly fit to really enjoy and get the most out of the day. You are rewarded with a stunning view from the top, so it is really worth it. We also went fishing (100m) and caught a few 1m long fantastic Kingfish, we were given a some filets to take away with us which kept us fed for a few days! We also did the 2 hour speciality snorkeling tour in the lagoon - an excellent way to be taken to coral/fish areas that you wouldn't find yourself, we found ourselves amongst Galapagos Sharks and rays, amazing!

Dining wise, we were slightly disappointed with Pinetrees (overrated), but loved the Golf Club, you need to book! The Anchorage was also great for lunch. Highly recommend going fishing and cooking up your own catch though! We found the Co-op fantastic for essential ingredients. Top Shop (just along from Ebbtide) also do amazing local sausages and steaks.

Lord Howe Island is possibly the most idyllic place we've had the privilege to ever spend time at, unspoilt and unassuming - a piece of paradise, you won't want to leave!

Room Tip: Garden unit 3 seemed just a little more private than units 1 or 2, but if you are wanting even more...

Thank you for your time to post a review of your holiday and stay with us at Ebbtide.
The rooms are designed to enchance the natural beauty and simplicity of life on Lord Howe. Your'e tip of unit 3 of the Garden units others will find handy and units 1 and 2 are often booked with friends who are travelling together and want to be close for sharing meals or a BBQ in the evening.
