We were visitng Mollymook for the very first time from Syndey, leaving after work we did arrive arond 9pm to Mollymook. To our surprised we arrived at the Dolphins of Mollymook to find no one at reception (doors locked) and no number to call except the security company. No key was left out or no note was left to instruct us where our room was. We pondered about sleeping in our car, but then noticed the lights on in the hotel across the road, Mollymook Shores motel. We drove across the road and the waitress in the hotel called the manager who happily accommodated a room for us. We casually woke up the next morning and went back across the road, back to the Dophins. The women at reception was surprised that no one called us the night before to check where we were, but she failed to followed up or give us a reason as to why no one called. She still charged us for the night we missed. The Sunday morning we were woken up by someone banging on our door. We told them we were just getting up. Then about ten minutes later, they banged on the door again and yelled "gonna get out, someone has this room booked." Then, "we have to come into the room and look at it." We quickly packed up and got out of there. We were really disappointment with this motel and wouldn't come back.

I apologise that there was confusion regarding your arrival. It clearly states on all booking sites for our motel that Reception is not 24 hours and closes at 8pm. It also states that any guest who anticipates arriving later must ring Reception to make arrangements for the key. Although we endeavour to contact any guest who has not arrived by closing time, it is not always possible due to bad mobile reception along the coast.

We extended a late checkout to you in the morning by over an hour. Your room was left as the last to clean that morning. You were told 30 mins after checkout time that a guest was waiting for your room. You were then asked to leave twice more at which point I was told you were in the shower. The guest and two cleaners were waiting outside your room for you to leave. An incoming guest also has a right to the room they have paid for and not many guests like to be kept waiting. Running a motel is a balancing act and we try to do our best to make all guests happy.

Stayed here for 3 nights with 2 mates over New Years. The family room had a double bed and 2 singles. the beds were a bit old and the single beds not very long. it did the job but wasn't fantastic. there was a dead cockroach in the bathroom light but we didn't see any live ones.

this is a basic motel, which is fine as a base to go and do things in the area. you wouldn't want to be spending much time at the motel itself though.

location is good. you can walk to the beach in 2 minutes and it is also very close to the Golf Club which is a hub of the area. The Beachside 9 hole course is also a fun course in summer when it is hot and 18 holes is a bit too much.

the beach is nice as well. a good place to stay but there are probably better spots along the south coast.

Room Tip: Only stayed in the family room with 2 mates. good location in an average motel to base yourself from...

My wife and I recently stayed at Mollymook and enjoyed ourselves, but our accommodation at Dolphins wasn’t the greatest. The room was VERY overpriced for what it was, and I found cockroaches running about - one even sitting on my face in the morning, it was disgusting. Somebody PLEASE call the exterminator!

We had the pleasure of staying here whilst visiting relatives in the area. The staff were very helpful and the accommodation was clean, tidy and comfortable. Nothing was a bother for the the staff. Thank you to all for making our stay a welcome one. We will be back.

I regularly get away from Sydney and Mollymook Beach is one I haven't surfed before so I was pleased to get a Motel all of 50m from the beach. The place is basic, but clean, the beds comfortable and new (as was the TV). I found the staff helpful with ideas of where the best fish and chips were and the tariff was perfect for the quick getaway from Sydney smog. My only complaint was that the office wasn't going to be open when we went to leave but they were happy for me to check out the night before.

Room Tip: We had a room at the back. It was quiet.

We were going to spend only one night in Ulladulla but this motel was so nice we stayed two. The lady at reception was very frendly and helpful and told us where to go and eat and what to see. The room was comfortable and very clean. It had a microwave and a flatscreen tv. The beach was close by and very beautiful. We thought the motel was good value and we will come back.

I stayed at Dolphins of Mollymook with my partner, it was one of the most disgusting hotels i have ever stayed in. The room at Dolphins of Mollymook was littered with cockroaches - in the bathroom, in the bedroom, etc. There were bedbugs at Dolphins of Mollymook - see the attached picture for what they did to me! The room at Dolphins of Mollymook also smelled of something foul, perhaps the rotting Dolphins of Mollymook - it was a stench and it was disgusting (i presume it was coming from the kitchen sink). The staff were very rude and watch out - they play a game where they'll charge your credit card for "cleaning services" after you get home from vacation (yes, it's a hotel!) claiming that in the fine print of the contract they can "legally" charge you $1 for every dish you do not put away - despite whether it's been cleaned or not. (Note - This is not legal, it's dirty (excuse the pun), if this happens to you: contact your credit card company and lodge a Dispute to investigate - the proprietor of Dolphins of Mollymook has to sign a long contract with the credit card company stating that if a card customer does not agree with a charge, then the proprietor of Dolphins of Mollymook has to refund it; also note if you havent "read" their little contract hanging on the wall then you havent "agreed" to their little contract hanging on the wall - very dodgy! Their cleaning tactic is tantamout to fraud and should also be reported to the Fair Trading / Consumer Affairs. The proprietor of Dolphins of Mollymook likely adds a nice little margin to her net profit every year screwing over transients for supposed cleaning fees, it's wrong and it needs to be stopped.) All up, our experience at Dolphins of Mollymook was nothing short of horrible.
