Bryn Glas Bed and Breakfast
Ranked #1 of 5 Moruya B&B and Inns
Reviewed 12 March 2013

Bryn Glas was delightful; there is a spectacular view (over hills and mountains) from the front balcony. The breakfast supplies were great, we loved the eggs (you can meet the friendly chickens, who ran to the fence when you walk past), fruit, yogurt and homemade bread!!! Inside everything was spotless, and the gardens were immaculate.

The owners were lovely people, they couldn't do enough for you, and their very well behaved doggie Satin was a delight. Moruya is a lovely community, hope you enjoy it as much as my fiancée and I did!

Thanks John and Sandra for a wonderfull weekend, great facilities and breakfast items. A thoroughly relaxing weekend in an idyllic setting. Loved the animals and especially Satin the dog.
An ideal centre to explore the South Coast. Loved the Moruya Markets and the Mogo Zoo. Will certainly be visiting Bryn Glas again.

My partner and I stayed at Bryn & Glas for our first year anniversary and for a break away from working and city life.

I am very pleased to report that I time away was spent well and we thoroughly enjoyed the good sized and clean cottage setting located well away from the main house, providing us with some privacy.

We were given the supplements for making ourself breakfast in the morning with eggs, and bacon and freshly baked bread which was all very delightful.

The one problem we had was resolved for us in a matter of minutes by John who was very apologetic and offered a discount, this generosity at such a minor issue was very much a surprise but refreshing as not everyone would trek down late at night to fix something that could wait until morning.

We enjoyed our stay very much so and would highly recommend anyone looking to have a weekend away. This is the perfect getaway for any couple wanting some quality time to spend with each other.

Don't let the mere 3 1/2 stars deter you from booking with John and Sandra at the cottage you won't regret it!

We booked via details of a local tourist map, so John & Sandra were not aware we were in the industry, so I can unequivocally say we had a lovely time and can thoroughly recommend.

We stayed in the self-contained apartment adjoining the home and it was great, daily supplies and all we could need. Any local info John knows and was keen to ensure we saw local attractions.

Free wireless broadband was a great benefit for us.
Thanks, we may be back one day!

We did not receive the service or cleanliness expected from a B&B with a star rating of 4 1/2. We were careful to book B&B well in advance as it was our wedding anniversary and we wanted to relax without the chore of cooking breakfast and washing dishes. We own and operate our own 4 1/2 star B&B and expected our host to cook the breakfast, but instead we were shown to the kitchen where the breakfast provisions were supplied in the fridge, and were advised that they no longer cook breakfast for guests and they were now self contained. The tariff remained the same as when we booked. The cooking utensils were poor quality and food stuck to the pans. Mugs and kettle were well stained, and no apron was provided.

The bed side glass topped tables were filthy along with the mirror in the bedroom. The linen however was clean and the bed comfortable. The best we can say is it was warm with adequate heating, but no electric blanket..

This B&B experince was not the best it should have been. Thank you for the bottle of bubbly but we declined to accept it.

We were very surprised to see this review and can only assume that their adverse comments were influenced by their disappointment at having to cater for themselves during their stay.
These guests were made aware of our change to self catering by email prior to booking, (we have correspondence that verifies this) and also from our website which they would have viewed prior to selecting between cottage and suite. It was also discussed by phone.
With regard to other observations they make we can only be guided by the many favourable comments we receive from a host of regular visitors, both before and after our change to self catering. In fact we would offer a full refund to any future guest who was not completely satisfied with all aspects of their stay with us.

This B&B is in a rural setting about 3 km south of Moruya. Our room was a good size with queen bed & an ensuite. A/C and a ceiling fan (which squeaked!). Bed was extremely comfortable.

On arrival we were offered our choice of tea or coffee with freshly baked muffins, which we ate on the verandah looking back towards Moruya - very civilised.

Our hosts, John and Sandra Spencer were very generous with their time, recommended places in Moruya for dinner and even made a phone booking for us.

After an excellent dinner at the golf club (not club food quality at all - restaurant quality) we made use of the communal lounge room.

Breakfast included OJ, choices of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit salad, home baked bread, and cooked breakfast.

A very enjoyable stay.

I'd recommend this as a good value for money option.

(You may have guessed from the name of the place that John and Sandra are originally from Wales.)

The Fan is fixed!
We are so pleased that your stay at Bryn Glas was enjoyable, though very disappointed that the squeaky fan was not mentioned to us at the time of your stay as we would have fixed it immediately. We want our guests to have a perfect (if possible) break and endeavour to make sure that their stay with us is as relaxing as possible.
We hope that you will stay with us again some time (the fan no longer squeaks!)
Regards,
John and Sandra
