Just a one hour drive from Liverpool, Sydney this is accommodation in fine style at a very reasonable price.
A heritage building and offers character and gorgeous grounds set on a golf course with access to the golf club and services.

The rooms are smallish but very well appointed with an ensuite, flat screen TV and fridge with tes/coffee making facilities.

The room size is offset by very generous and comfortable common areas both inside and outside, a bar serving drinks at competitve prices has a good selection.

Dinner and breakfast foods are some of the best in the area.

This place impressed, the staff are well trained and friendly, rooms clean and functional. Not 5 star but neither is the cost.

Well worth a week or weekend away from the hustle of Sydney.

Only a short walk from Moss Vale railway station with regular Sydney service, check it out.

Good parking and plenty to do.

Room Tip: Book more than one night to take in all that the Southern Highlands has to offers.

Stayed over night. Wonderful feel, lots of wood and 30/40's charm. Every thing in good condition, not luxury but very comfortable. We booked into the standard double room, so only had a double bed in a smallish room. I believe the Queen rooms are bigger, but the wotif price made it an absolute bargain. Food and drink very reasonably priced too.

It is right on the edge of the golf course, so the view is gorgeous.

My partner and I attended a course in Mittagong during a very busy period, The Dormie was all we could find available last minute. The service and value for money both highlights. Rooms are very small, bed tiny. Okay for one night, longer may be uncomfortable.

Last week we had the pleasure of having an overnight stay at Dormie House, at Moss Vale. Yes it is a little "shabby chic" but as I love older buildings I found it charming. We had plenty of room as we had two bedrooms. Dinner and breakfast enjoyable.

Stayed 3 nights with large group of golfers, the hotel is in urgent need of some upkeep, carpets need cleaning and/or replacing especially on the stairs & landing, not all heaters in rooms worked. Breakfast & dinner included in tariff was basic but reasonable. Golf course was fantastic, great condition & very picturesque especially autumn but anytime really.

Room Tip: Ask for larger room overlooking golf course.

A bit 'shabby chic' but relaxed and friendly. Have used this as a base to visit family in the area a number of times and it continues to please. Very reasonably priced thorough wotif. Corridors lined with photos from the past. Great setting overlooking Moss Vale Golf Course.

Asked for a single which had a double bed. Two people would have been one too many for the space. My friend had a single as well, but hers had a twin bed. The pillows were like rocks, after trying all four of them I went with the throw pillow that was on the bed which put the bed pillows to shame. The bed its self was comfortable, but the sheets were like starched burlap. The bathroom was clean with the usual amenities. For a single room it had way too much closet space which could have been used for a small table or even a folding table. There was NO place to set anything like a laptop. You had to sit on the bed to do anything. There were spider webs all over, but no sign of the makers. There is no reading light or even a place to set a light by the bed and you have to get up to turn out the light. The lamp that was in the room had a burnt lampshade and probably only cost about $10 to begin with, don't know why they did not replace it. The breakfast and dinners were quite nice. I did see a lunch menu as well on the table at breakfast. There is large lounge room which could be used for using your laptop if you did not mind leaving your room. The location is good for the exploring the Southern Highlands. The staff at reception and in the restaurant were very good.
Over all it is ok for a place to sleep and have brekkie, but don't rely on too many comforts that are in most hotel rooms.

Room Tip: Avoid rm 33 and probably any at that end which is over the room which had the pool table and ping po...
