“Rest and Relaxation”
Reviewed 10 June 2013

My partner and I stayed at the Pines Pastoral over the June Longweekend in the Sugar Glider and it was exactly what we were after. The Sugar Glider and the Echidna are the two cottages that have privacy, are on separate hills away from the other 4 cabins ( I think with the saunas) and they did not disappoint. Most things you could need for a weekend away except for a microwave and we didn't have to leave the property once we bought our food. Went for nice walks around the farm and we were at best 10 - 15 mins away from Bowral. Beds were nice and comfy, fire was roaring and it was the perfect place to relax with some good books, good wine and what more could you ask for. If you rely on internet service you will be a bit disappointed but we went there to get away from phones, emails and tv . Perfect place for a getaway.

My mum and I travelled down to see my uncle and aunt who live just outside Moss Vale and we found this gorgeous cottage to stay in on line and we were not disappointed. I took the main bedroom which was cosy and warm and mum had the double sofa bed beside the fire place. The area is quiet the only thing that we heard was the bulls it is right in the country but only minutes by car to Moss Vale. The lady who owns the cottages so lovely and friendly. There is a sauna in the cottage but we didn't use it by choice. There is an oven and hot plates and full fridge. No microwave though but that was fine. Be lovely for a couple for a getaway

My family and I love staying at the Pines Pastoral. The cottages are in a picturesque and peaceful setting that's only a short drive to either Moss Vale or Bowral. The cottages are a comfortable, well equipped 'home from home' and are good value for money. There are lovely feather doonas, fluffy towels and all the mod cons. We've stayed several times but have yet to jump in the sauna. In winter we toast by the fire and in summer we open up all the doors and enjoy the fabulous views from the wrap-around verandah. We enjoy going for a walk and on our last trip, much to the kids' excitement, got up close to a wallaby and wombat. Owner Robin is fantastically welcoming and hospitable. My only grumble is that it's rather dusty under the beds, but it is a country farmhouse after all. My family and I love the Pines and would recommend it in a heartbeat.

My partner and I recently stayed for Saturday and Sunday night at the Possums cottage.

The accommodation was excellent and a very reasonable price which included two bedrooms, a kitchen and sauna and lovely fireplace.

Possums is a great cottage being quite and secluded, surrounded by great countryside all of which contributed to a nice and relaxing time away.

Robyn was very nice and kind enough to allow us to check out late on the last day.

We will definitely be back again !

We chose to stay at Pines Pastoral as we needed an affordable place to stay with 2 bedrooms and a kitchen or kitchenette in the Southern Highlands for a wedding. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised.
We stayed in the front cottage "Possums" and it was perfect for what we needed. The cottage was perfectly quiet, spacious, clean, had lovely decor, and was equipped with everything we could ask for. It had a good sized TV with a DVD player; full kitchen with a full sized fridge, a microwave, all cutlery, crockery and utensils; laundry; heaters in both bedrooms; very comfortable beds; and a brilliant log fire in the lounge / dining area. It even had a sauna .. not that we used it. The cottages are on a property that is a short drive out of town, but don't let that deter you. We found the property very easily and it was only a short drive into Bowral for lunch or groceries.
Our host Robyn was friendly and extremely helpful. We had a 4 month old baby at the time and she even organised a port-a-cot for us when when couldn't bring our own.
I can recommend The Pines Pastoral if you are after a self-contained stay that is out of the hustle and bustle, very peaceful and quiet. We would definitely stay again.

Christine and I have just returned from two wonderful nights at The Pines Pastoral. We stayed in Platypus and the relaxtion started as soon as we arrived on Saturday night. Our accommodation was brilliant, the fire was burning away in our cottage, the peace and quite was absolutly brilliant, the stars in the sky were amazing and I could go on and on.

Recommend this for a couple looking to get out of the rat race of Sydney for the weekend or for a romantic getaway where you can just snuggle up in front of the fire with your special person and enjoy the peace and quite together.

The owner, Robyn is an amazing lady who is always available to help when needed but she also leaves you to enjoy your time at this wonderful place if thats what you want.

We intend to visit again, hopefully in July or August and we look forward to trying out Blue Wren or the Possums.

Enjoyed the whole experience

Love staying at The Pines Pastoral in Moss Vale. For the last 5 years, my girl friend and I have had a 3 day weekend getaway in May - primarily just to get away from the family and have a relaxing, indulgent break. We stay in Possums Cottage which has 2 separate queen size bedrooms. It is fully self-contained, and all bedding and linens are provided. We tend to stop at Bowral on the way through from Sydney and do a small shop there before heading to the cottage. Possums sits on a large property which is an Angus Cattle Stud Farm. We enjoy going late May as the weather is just right for lighting the fireplace as the sun sets. The wrap around verandahs are a great place to sit in the early morning and late afternoon sunshine while you enjoy a cuppa (or something stronger). The owner, Robyn, is a real gem. She is very friendly and full of local knowledge and a tale or two. We look forward to catching up with her every time we visit. The Beds are extremely cosy and comfortable (unfortunately not so much the lounge though) but other than that, the cabin overall gets the thumbs up from me. There is not a lot to do on the property itself, except relaxing and walking, but because of where it is positioned in the Southern Highlands, it isn't too far a drive to beautiful Berrima, Berry, Kangaroo Valley and Bundanoon and Bowral - all lovely spots to visit. We Enjoyed doing a high-tea at the Grand Fountaindale Manor in Robertson last year which is not far, and enjoy the Thai restaurant in Moss Vale (right near the station). Can't wait to head back there later this year.
