The Gallery is located in the heart of Australia's Green Cauldron (Tourism Australia's National Landscapes) so is in a naturally very beautiful area overlooking Mt Warning. What lies within is a fantastic and varied collection the Gallery can be justifiably proud of on an international stage. Gallery volunteers and staff add to the experience with well informed and often colourful narrative and are to be congratulated for thier enthusiasm and unbridled bonhomie. Make it a point to engage with them if you can (sometimes busy). The Margaret Olly Gallery is an intensly personal insight into a wonderful artist and is a re-creation in which you feel a palpable presence of the artist; this is a National Treasure way beyond the usual "gallery" experience. Travellers in the general area of the Tweed Valley, Gold Coast, Brisbane and even the Sunshine Coats (just 2+ hours away) should definitely consider an extended visit - maybe stay for a meal!

We loved our visit to this gallery. What a beautiful building and vista to embrace. It is an inspiration to come here and we loved seeing Margaret Olley's recreated house. Just wonderful. So well done and fantastic that we preserve these treasures from artists in our society.

I recently visited this gallery with my father and his wife. The gallery has extraordinary views of the Tweed valley and has been well designed to make the most of the wonderful location. The Margaret Olley Exhibition was beautifully presented and was most fascinating. It was wonderful to see a snapshot of her life. The ArtExpress 2014 was also showing when we visited and there was some outstanding pieces of artwork, well worth going to see.
On the day that we visited the gallery and the cafe were very busy. The cafe staff were very welcoming despite the crowds and worked quickly to turn around tables to seat the waiting guests. We enjoyed the food, there was certainly enough choice and the serving sizes were quite generous.

After a very pleasant lunch on the verandah I ventured to view the Margaret Olley exhibition. The gallery has magnificent views of the mountains and countryside. The Margaret Olley Exhibition is one that I could visit over and over. Totally fascinating rooms replicating perfectly her home in Paddington, her love of objects and flowers and the organised chaos which was her life.

I loved the food at the cafe, plenty of options and great coffee. I will be back

The Tweed Art Gallery is the jewel of the hills. It has extraordinary views and is beautifully presented. A touch of class and sophistication has definitely graced the Northern Rivers. The cafe too is well worth the visit.
