“Excellent and very helpful place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2014

We had an excellent two day stay at this very welcoming, comfortable B&B. The whole house is decorated with very interesting memorabilia, which reflects the owners’ interests and personalities. Guests’ rooms are on the first floor. Our room was very clean and well-maintained; it had a settee and a balcony with tables and chairs. Guests can have breakfast in the down stairs dining room or on their balcony. You order the items you want for breakfast the night before and specify the time that you would like it. Breakfast was very good. Heather made us a fruit plate, as we asked about this, even though it was not itemised on the breakfast menu. Depending on when you have breakfast, you may share a table with other guests. We found it interesting to exchange travel experiences. This B&B also has a small lounge for guests to use. We found Heather and Kerry very helpful in providing information about the general area.

We stayed here in March 2014 as part of a road trip from Melbourne to Sydney. We were given a friendly welcome by Heather and Kerry, along with good tips about what to do in town. The house is quirky with teddy bears, dolls, toy cars and other knick-knacks dotted about, and has a nautical feel in the decor. This helps to add to the homely feeling.

We were able to specify when we wanted breakfast any time from 7.30am, and this early time suited us well as we had a boat trip booked for the morning. At times after this it's possible to have it served on your own veranda, which is a nice touch. There's a great choice of food and they cater for gluten-free diets, if you should need this. Breakfast was very good indeed.

The B&B is located a short walk from various restaurants and the wharf, so quite well positioned in town but down a quiet side street. We could see the sea from our window. The room was very comfy and had nice toiletries in the bathroom. Free wi-fi was provided.

Heather and Kerry went out of their way to make our experience a good one, allowing us to leave our car in their car park for several hours even after we had checked out to go on our trip. They also kindly filled water bottles for us before our onward journey. We would highly recommend Anchors Aweigh for anyone passing through Narooma. Thanks from Phil and Beverley.

Room Tip: We were in room 3, named Charlotte, and it was very nice, but they all looked good from what we coul...

Hi Phil and Beverley

We think that you touched on some really good information and we thank you for the descriptive review and the time to do so.
Narooma is a real nature stop over and a relaxing stay to allow the batteries to top us while enjoying the earthy touch on the Ozzie adventure.
We both thank you very much for staying with us while in this part of the country.

All the very best in your global travels from Heather and Kerry

This is a not to be missed B&B. In my opinion it is the best on the NSW South Coast. Great proprietors make you welcome in this immaculately kept property with lots of quirky memorabilia on display.
Prices are very reasonable for the quality of accommodation - cheaper than any of the motels in town but the accommodation standard is higher and breakfast something to remember.
One stay won't be enough - you'll make it No1 on your South Coast stay list. I have.
This was my third stay at Anchors Aweigh - I have also stayed with my wife before - She loved it too

Room Tip: All the rooms are great and of a similar standard - there are 2 spa rooms if that's your thing

We stayed here a in January for our wedding anniversary and we were extremely impressed. The hosts Heather and Kerry were very nice and the service we received was excellent. Everything was clean and tidy and worked well. Our room was spacious and well set out as well as a lovely balcony. Kerry recommended a great place to eat and also suggested to us a lovely drive to take. Breakfast we ordered the night before and was delicious and there was plenty of it. Couldn't fault this place at all. Highly recommend it.

Unlike Terry E, we had a good experience here. We found the hosts were helpful and attentive, the room spotless and the bed comfortable. A good sized balcony on which to enjoy the view. and parking at the back of the building. We would happily stay here again.

Hello UK Travellers

We hope that you both returned to a dryer UK than we have see on the box. We have enjoyed having the UK humor and wit with us during the festive and NY period.
Both of us hope that the Ozz experience was worth the travelling time and hope you come back to this side of the globe again. Thank you for selecting us while on the south coast, in Narooma NSW.

We stayed one night as a break on a drive from Sydney to Melbourne. Anchors Aweigh was easy to find and has off street parking at the back. Heather and Kerry run a very professional and comfortable B&B with the quirky decorations adding an unusual edge. Our room was very well furnished and had a good balcony. Breakfast (ordered the night before for a set time) was plentiful and of high quality. Heather and Kerry’s tip to eat at the golf club restaurant was an excellent one. Bistro type food with wonderful 270 degree views of the coastline.

This B&B accommodation is located in an elevated position with views of the coastline from the balcony outside of our room. It is a short walk from the beach and even closer to shops and restaurants.

Our first impressions on entering the property were of entering someone's home and this feeling extended to our room. However this is a home with a difference in that the owners have concentrated on providing an excellent environment and service for guests.

Our room was tastefully decorated with lots of personal touches e.g. bathrobes and large fluffy towels, the bed was very comfortable and the owners had installed quality fittings throughout.

The balcony offered the opportunity to sit and have a relaxing, late-afternoon drink whilst taking in the views. There is a comprehensive list of choices for breakfast with an option to eat it on your balcony if so inclined.

Everything worked and both Kerry and Heather are excellent hosts. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.
