We visited the Fairy Room for two days midweek and were very impressed.

The booking was arranged online and the online services passed on the direct contact information of the care takers to arrange for late check in. Clear instructions were provided over the phone and information was provided in a leaflet with the keys.

Our first impression were that of "charm", open plan design with a cute, quirky theme.

The fireplace was centrally placed and was a really novelty. Wood was provided and made for a romantic atmosphere when it started raining ^^

The spiral to the bedroom gives the feeling of a lost apartment and the clever spacious design means you are within earshot of your partner at all times.

The spa like the fireplace is a real novelty. Jus don't turn the heat up too much :p

Close to the shops, beach/marina and the sand dunes at one mile beach. Jus be sure you have a 4wd of your planning to drive the dunes.

All in all we had a great time seeing the sights, but for us the atmosphere and vibe of the apartment made for a great time away. Lol hehe

Our second trip to Wisteria Cottage. Previously stayed in the Fairy House, this time in Tinkerbell's Hideaway. The cottage is divided into three, Fairy House at the bottom of the garden, Tinkerbell's on ground level and Cinderella's Slipper upstairs. A nice entry from a verandah with a lounge or chairs to enjoy the atmosphere. Inside is a good sized living area with comfortable lounge and large LCD and open fire, leading off to a galley style kitchen with everything required. Ahead from the entry is a dining room on the left off which is the bedroom, bi-fold doors if needed, and a very comfortable king size bed. Doors on the side of the bedroom open to a covered courtyard with oldish lounge, chairs and table. The bathroom is at the back with a large spa looking onto a semi-closed balcony garden. At the rear of the cottage is an outdoor deck, four seater table and BBQ. A very enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Tinkerbell's is much better than the Fairy House, but unable to comment on Cinderella's Slip...

I stayed in the Enchanted Wisteria Fairy House earlier this year, and was less than impressed with some of the features. Fairy House is one of three units in the Wisteria Cottage.

Finding the way in was fun. Finding the building was easy. Finding the front door was more challenging. The entrance is off to the side rather than from the front. When we checked in the place was full of incense. This to us was as bad as cigarette smoke.

The entrance to the side is slightly overgrown making it rather difficult to get to the main door without brushing past any plant matter. Not good when your partner has an allergy that makes it best for her not to brush up against unknown plant matter. The secondary courtyard is really overgrown, which has so much plant matter it is now decorative only.

The main path had a ‘Sensor Light’ but this would only turn on once you had gone down most of the path and a number of steps. This is not all that safe and needs to be improved.

I am glad that we did in fact check in during the day. Only two of the six down lights downstairs above the lounge chair and the kitchen actually work. Thankfully an extra table lamp was provided to provide enough light for cooking. Correction to the down lights – we eventually found the light switch for two more down lights OUTSIDE the door to the unit. What made this even more strange is that it had a dimmer, meaning that you needed to open the door to the interior corridor to change the mood of the lighting inside.

I think that this confusion could have been solved with an overview booklet for the unit.

The apartment is serviced every second day. However there are only two towels in the bathroom – requiring each person to use a towel for two days. This is not a great problem, but it is something that could be improved on. Thankfully two towels were provided for the corner Spa Bath.

There are droppings from something in the pantry cupboard, and the cutlery draws really need a clean out too. There are cobwebs throughout the property. And spiders. The major decorative mirror in the lounge needs a polish – it looks like it has been cleaned but not all the polish has been removed from the mirror.

The entire unit needs a good clean. Some of the items look as if they have not been dusted for ages.

Porcelain on the toilet is actually cracked off. Put another way, a great hunk is missing. Very unprofessional. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom. There is a door to the outside but there is no fly screen. Or there is the door to the kitchen that can remain opened.

The roof of the corner spa bath had been recently replaced. However the down lights are not dimmable despite the dimmer being installed. To top this off, the knob for the dimmer was missing.

The ironing board features one leg instead of the normal two. Unfortunately the anti-gravity device is faulty necessitating the second leg. There is a phone socket in the bedroom upstairs but it is not connected. The hotel is not advertised as having a phone, but it certainly does not have a phone.

Whilst the bedroom is great and open plan, there are only two blinds in the whole place. One is on the bathroom, and one is on the entrance door. And the one in the entrance door does not completely cover the glass allowing people to see into the lounge area. The lack of blinds means that people are woken up at dawn, thanks to the large number of windows in the property. Alternately, facemasks could be provided to improve the amenity of the unit.

There was no ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign for the door. This was mostly not a problem. Mostly.

And to top things off, the DVD Remote Control was missing batteries
