For at least the last 5 years we have found Calurla the ideal place to unwind and totally relax. In the interest of full disclosure, I should mention that the owners asked if we minded writing a review here, since we always write such nice things in the visitor book.
I am exceedingly happy to say that it is a lovely place to stay. It has all the comforts you need and each of the cabins and chalets have a lovely feel.
But what I love most is the complete peacefulness of the place. Time truly stops and all the stress of daily life drifts away, up into the tops of the majestic gum trees which frame the extensive mountain views. Some of the cabins look directly out to Wollumbin (Mt Warning) which is the residual core of an ancient volcano that created the stunning landscape and fertile soil of the Northern Rivers.
A walk in World Heritage rainforest with 2,000 year old trees is highly recommended and is a 45 minute drive, and the colourful town of Nimbin is only 10 minutes away.
So the choice is yours; you can escape the world totally, leave your car in the carport and cook your own meals, or drop into town for a daily coffee. Either way you are sure to feel toally rejuvenated by the end of your stay.
