Reviewed 29 January 2014

Shoalhaven Zoo is a great place weather you want to see animals and get up close and get your picture taken or have a great meal in the Zoo Haven cafe or camp in the camping area .We did all 3 over the Australia day weekend and had the best time . On the Monday everyone did the Tree Adventure which was a lot of fun and laughs

“Beautifully located little zoo”
Reviewed 27 January 2014

When I was younger it was called the Nowra Animal Park. Now it is the Shoalhaven Zoo. It has just enough exotic animals to be called a zoo. Excellent, beautiful location on a lovely part of the Shoalhaven River. You can get right up close to some of the animals like kangaroos and emus. The kangaroos are tame enough to be petted. There are other native animals like wombats, snakes, crocodiles and dingos. There are also a couple of non-natives like monkeys and llamas. It is a great little zoo for short easy visits. Little kids will love it.

“Okay but nothing special”
Reviewed 4 January 2014

After reading the existing reviews here I was wondering if we were at the same place. This is a small "community" zoo. Nothing special for the $50 entry fee for a family. The exhibits are starting to look a bit tired. As our young ones are always up super early we arrived just after opening. Unfortunately the demonstrations didn't start until 11:30am and there simply wasn't enough to do to keep them occupied till then, after about 90 minutes we were done. The Trees-Adventure section (which has a separate fee) would be the thing to do with older children.

“Tree Adventure at the Shoalhaven Zoo”
Reviewed 3 January 2014

Took the family to the Tree Adventure yesterday and they had a fantastic time. The courses were very challenging and required a great deal of bravery!

“Keeps the kids occupied”
Reviewed 31 December 2013 via mobile

Great little zoo with the best views. The talks are great and interactive. The crocs didn't cooperate on the day but that's what happens when you work with animals. Monkeys are great and will return one day to do the close and personal tours where you can feed them yourself. The adventure walks were great for our 9-12 yr old boys. Climbing through caves etc. bit harder for the unfit adults.
Took own food for a picnic but you can buy from the cafe.
Tree adventure on same site however there was no package deal to do both. Both companies could win with that.
Value for money. Spent five hours there. Kids loved the giant slide as well.
