“Great place to stay at Perisher”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2014

We had a fantastic stay at Barrakee Lodge. The location is amazing - waking up to views of the snow from bed is surreal! The food was fantastic - just as well we were skiing to wear off the food we ate!! Beautiful three course dinners, filling cooked breakfasts, lovely pre-dinner snacks by the fireplace! Sharn and Craig are wonderful hosts, and the rest of the staff - Aidee, Chloe, Mitch, Howie and Adrian, are so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. I injured my knee - Sharn provided me with an icepack. I was meeting my husband for lunch so Craig ran me over. Mitch carried our bags and skis! Highly recommend this lodge! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Barrakee Lodge is the place to stay! You can ski from the lodge to one of the best runs around and if you want to go to front valley or the interceptor the fantastic staff are more than willing to run you around in the lodges range of vehicles. Once you get back from a hard days skiing the rooms are warm and welcoming and the fire rages upstairs. The piece de resistance however is the food served by the master chef Howie and the great staff. Absolutely outstanding. Ticks all the boxes and we will be back for sure!!

We are long time visitors to Perisher and first timers at Barrakee. Do yourself a favour and consider Barrakee for your next ski trip to Perisher. Here are six reasons you should.
1) Very welcoming hosts, Craig, Sharn and team are helpful, friendly and professional.
2) The Barrakee seems to attract guests who love skiing not those who just want to party.
3) Rooms are upgraded very comfortable and spotlessly clean.
4) If you have basic skiing skills you can easily ski from the door and back.
5) The food, dinner and breakfast where excellent, well done to the chef.(did not get his name)
6) You are really in the snow away from the chaos of Perisher Front Valley..

Thanks for a great stay.

Were just arrived home from a week long stay at Barrakee Lodge.
While washing all our gear, we are reflecting on all the great things we have just experienced.
A big thank you to Sharn & Craig and all their great staff, Chloe, Aidee and Mitch, who will do stuff for you before you realise you even need it.
The food was excellent, the kitchen is second to none.
Did I mention the fat wombat, that roams around outside. Very cute.
We can't wait for our next visit, we miss you Barrakee!.
Jeff, Betty and Maxi.

Room Tip: All rooms are great! East side for great sunrise.

Craig and Sharn are the best! It's like coming home to family each year when we visit. We take 30 students to ski and we are yet to find a thing these people can't do for their visitors. The food is incredible, even our fussiest eaters are appeased. The company is great and it is such a wonderful place to spend our off snow time. Great prices and location - it's on snow! We love it and I am looking forward to visiting in 2014!

My husband and I were not able to go on a proper honeymoon after our wedding so we decided to go to the snow for a mini break/getaway. We found Barrakke Ski Lodge on wotif.com and although it is a little more expensive to stay here the value for money and genuine/welcoming service makes it well worth it!
Craig and Sharn were extremely hospitable and wonderful people to talk to.
The lodge has a very family orientated vibe, where everyone likes to chat and get to know one another.
The rooms are comfortable and the amenities are more than sufficient.
Our booking included breakfast, 3 course dinner each night and oversnow transfers. The food = amazing!
From the get go Barrakee staff remembered our names, were extremely dedicated to serving you and making sure you feel as comfortable as possible, even bringing us a bottle of champagne complimentary to celebrate our recent nuptials.
Thank you very much Barrakke. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

We were at Bareakee after the opening weekend 2014. Craig, Sharn and their team were so warm and welcoming. They took care of us too well. Feels like a holiday home (with full facility). We enjoyed the full breakfast a lot. The Dinners were amazing. Reminds us of the ryokan stays in Japan where they served kaisaki dinners. Facilities include sauna, squash court, laundry, living room with DVD. If you like your drinks, the bar is stocked with a good selection of wines and liquor. The fire place is up every night to get warmed up in. Best place to be in to get filled and refresh in the morning for skiing and adventuring, back in the evenings to recharge. First Class.
