When making our original booking we checked reception times, said till 10.00pm so booked the 10.00pm check in option on the website. Had a call which was nice to confirm booking and advised that maybe reception will be closed on arrival. We arrived at 9.50pm to have reception doors closing so we got keys via overnight box, no dramas but receptionist closed doors walked right past as was working on safe, no nice check how are you, welcome, ok with getting keys etc. if reception is to close early maybe make closing time on web 9.30pm and then people could adjust times.

Next morning, breakfast from 6.30am, we were at front door of restaurant waiting, twice the waitress walked past looking at us out windows, no real acknowledgment. Waiting thinking oh well if reception closes early maybe breakfast starts late to then see people inside, we found back door open, no sign on front and disappointed that the waitress did not suggest to wave to us to come around. Breakfast greeting was " u's having the lot"

6 people were in the room and during this time, apple juice and organise juice ran out.

Like I said not like it used to be

Very warm welcome. When I said I did not have a car to drive to room offered something closer to reception. Room are in large courtyard behind reception, happy to walk and glad I did because of the road noise, very busy main road almost unheard from room 12 had to be louder closer to the front. Room very big, very clean and overall very good, however looking tired very chipped and damaged tiles in bathroom and in front of fridge.Very comfy, extra pillows and blankets in good supply, bed towels excellent quality. While very good this is a motel. Good for overnight stays. Found some staff very helpful, but for others I didn't exist. Ate in the restaurant almost empty, granted we had not booked but it was early and a drama changing a table to 3 and no one else came in after us Questions about the menu sent our waitress back to kitchen each time and this was their regular menu not the specials. I had the special flathead a nice portion with chips and veg, my companion had the salmon which looked quite sad and lonely next to a very small serve of rice, very white plate. If not in front of fire several guest including ourselves ate with coats on, breakfast no warmer. Breakfast included all the usual plus cooked to order that was nice. Would I stay again, yes for business /overnight not for romance, something special or for a few nights

Right up until my mid teens, this is the hotel pur family would stay at every year on our road trip up to QLD.
Everything about the place was the same.. Beautiful grounds, same look inside the rooms and still had the paddocks of animals behind - which as kids we loved - but as now adults, were slightly turned off by the smell. Mind you, we visited during the massive downpour NSW had, so the ground was sodden which probably made smells more prominent.

Mosquito's were always an issue - i remember having to use repellant even as kids.

I loved visiting a place that held memories - but was a little let down with the room. The air con didn't work in the main bedroom, which forced us to sleep in single beds to remain in an airconditioned room. The bathroom tiles are DEADLY when wet.. Especially in the shower when their shampoo and conditioner dispensers drip onto the tiles.

I did address issues with housekeeping upon checkout - as I could smell smoke from the drain when showering, only to notice cigarette butts along the sil. The staff member was appreciative of feedback.

I would stay again because I hold the memories dear to heart.

The was a three night stay for a business visit in the area. Huge room, opening onto peaceful internal courtyard garden. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is an on-site restaurant with an adequate menu - the nearest dining alternatives are 10 mins drive away, in Raymond Terrace.

However, the rooms urgently need refreshing. The furniture is very worn - the sole arm chair (the room had bedding for three people) sagged to the point of being uncomfortable; the bathroom basin was cracked and chipped, and the room cabinets were quite tired. There is a work bench, but no light over it. The room lighting was two very low wattage down-lights, and two small bed side lights - if I stay here again, I'll bring my own!

Next time I'm in the area, I might try Nelson Bay - about half an hour away.

Have been staying here for a while, travellling from Gold Coast to Sydney also make this one a break. Price is great, restaurant is good although we have our meals in the room, breakfast is big and good priced.
Rooms are exceptionally clean everything works, large tv. No real noise from the road so you get a good sleep.
All in all recomend this one to others without hesitation.
will stay again soon

Room Tip: any room is good, all on ground floor and parking at the door
