Hathaway Bed & Breakfast
Reviewed 5 September 2012

we stayed at the hathaway for 12 nights, along with my sister and her partner. helena and victor were amazing hosts and helena's breakfasts are to die for!!! goumet meal all the way!! we were all made to feel like family with a coffee and homemade biscuits offered after a tiring day! the house is wonderful along with the 'cottage' that offers that little bit more privacy.everywhere was clean and tidy, and the house is situated on magnificent grounds.great location if you are visiting, port stephens, the hunter valley vineyards, or the newcastle area!! we all would certainly recommend this gem of a b& b!!!!(tell helena & victor that david, sandra, debbie and troy ,sent you!!!)

Room Tip: all rooms are wonderful, the room across from the cottage is amazing!

We stayed at the Hathaway B&B during the Easter long weekend. We have two children so had use of the Cottage. This was amazing and our little girl referred to it immediately as our 'little house'. The beds were very comfortable, bathrooms clean and tidy and overall the place was charming with it's decorations and little welcoming touches.
However on top of this the breakfast definitely rates a mention. We had the corn fritters on one morning which were restaurant quality. Another morning we had mushrooms on toast which might not sound glamorous but were absolutely delicious! This is all in addition to already having cereal and fruit salad and a hot cross bun! We didn't need lunch!
The hosts at Hathaway are very warm and welcoming and very keen for a chat!

Good location whether travelling the Pacific Highway (5 mins); arriving/leaving Williamtown(Newcastle) airport (15 mins); or staying a while - Newcastle city (35 mins), histoic Morpeth (15 mins), the Hunter Valley wineries (40-50 mins) or Nelson Bay (40 mins). Extensively refurbished original area home - extensive gardens and very quiet location. Bedrooms in the main house (own bathroom but not ensuite) are well decorated, presented, equipped and clean. Separate self contained cottage available too. Great breakfasts. Great host.
