Waldorf The Entrance Apartment Hotel
Reviewed 14 August 2013 via mobile

$400 for a 2 night stay. This accommodation was disguisting, and comparable with a one star hovel. Looks as though the place had been treated roughly by party animals, over the years. Breakfast was included (INSTANT COFFEE AND NO FRILLS BREAD) could'nt look at it, never mind eat it. I'd rather sleep in my car.

We had one night here recently and it was pleasant. I found the 2 bedroom oceanview apartment to be clean and functional, but had more of a hotel room vibe than a proper apartment (eg it was really only a kitchenette as there was no oven and the main bedroom was only screened off from the living area with a sliding door type arrangement which was a bit strange). For this reason i would not choose to stay here for an extended holiday but would look for somewhere with a proper kitchen and a bit more space. It was fine for an overnight stay.
Reception staff were very friendly, agree with some of the other reviews that the breakfast is a bit of a different set up but not unpleasant; the whole dining area has a real country town vibe that I wasn't expecting. There seemed to be a lot of regular customers in there.
Note that this property is not directly on the waterfront so even though you pay extra for an oceanview room you are still looking out over the back of the cafes on the strip which is not so pleasant if you look down from the balcony.

Had a two night stay at Waldorf. Probably the worst accommodation I have ever stayed in. Two bedroom apartment with one dirty bathroom. I can only say shut down, renovate and try to bring the standard of the place at least up to acceptable.

We had a pleasant experience for our short stay at the Waldorf Apartments, but we found it a bit pricey for what they offer. If their prices and deals offered more value for money, then it would be an above average accommodation. For example: We didn't even try the $6 breakfast deal announced everywhere, as it was like having it in your own kitchen, totally ignoring the excellent surroundings and possible views from the hotel. We wouldn't have minded a $10 deal in a better dining set. But spacious, clean and relaxing. The plus is that you can park your car in the same floor level of your hotel room! priceless....

Room Tip: Higher rooms have better views.

Had a quick one night stop-over, not knowing what to expect and was pleasantly surprised and also writing this as part-time resident at The Entrance. Staff greeted me by name on arrival (not sure how they knew, as looked like something the cat dragged in and were really helpful). My studio was enormous with everything and more and I felt it was wasted on me. I had of course read previous reviews... my apartment was spotless, and whilst the common areas a little tired, I thought it terrific value (light breakfast included) and so convenient to everywhere, so one must balance all of that. Breakfast was a total hoot - the Maitre d seemed to know everyone, the breakfast room was PACKED (they were turning people away) and I worked out later that not only guests visit, but outsiders.... for $6.00 for enormous brekkie one can certainly not complain. Unlike many places, Waldorf will take a one night booking (not sure if this is so over high season). In sum, I was perfectly comfortable, slept like a lamb. A bit of noise coming from next door neighbours, until I realised they had about 5 kids in there, again, not any fault of the hotel. Parking (secure) included, and general security very good (two sets of cards provided for different use e.g. elevator, car park, front door, room door, so take both with you at all times - as this writer also learnt.. the hard way!!!). Next hint: if you have loads of gear to take, try to have a room on 3rd floor which has direct access to car park.

Room Tip: Take room on 3rd floor, on same level as secured car park

Traveled as two couples and booked a 2 bedroom apartment, nice and big, plenty of room and big balcony. Unfortunately we found the second bedroom to be very poorly cleaned.

Turned one of the bedspreads over to see a half metre urine stain on the white underside, deciding to put that to one side just in case, we got the spare blankets out which had a pair of dirty used underwear between them. Upon inspecting the spare blankets one had some dried phelgmy blood on it and the other had 2 other dirty/streaky marks. We checked in late so there wasn't really much we could do. Overall this tainted our stay, we understand things can be missed but it really was quite disgusting.

Pro's: Good location-near the water and pub, spacious room and balcony, free light continental breakfast offered

Con's: poorly cleaned, some furniture broken, second bedrooms window needs some curtains over blinds to shut out light properly, breakfast area very unappealing

Great location near the bridge ,pub ,restaurants etc .
Rooms are a bit tired and could do with a refurbish but all in all not too bad.
Free breakfast was adequate.
Overall probably not the best place to stay at The Entrance but for the money it did the job
