We have stayed at the Thredbo Alpine Hotel a number of times over the past 20 years, including 2 overnight stays this season when the snow was good, and we decided to stay and ski another day. The ski storage and boot drying room open to the path to the village lifts, only a few minutes walk away. Most restaurants in the village are only a few minutes walk away, as is the supermarket. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel, as well as a lounge bar, and I have always enjoyed eating and drinking at these outlets. Breakfast buffet is similar to most breakfast buffets at Rydges hotels - good quality, plenty of choice.
All the rooms we have stayed in look over the pool terrace towards the mountain. Apres ski activities take place on the pool terrace each winter afternoon, so it can be noisy for a few hours, but all is quiet before sleep time (maybe not so good for people with young children or anyone needing to sleep in the late afternoon/early evening). The rooms we have stayed in are compact, but have everything you need for a short stay (there are larger rooms that may be more comfortable for a longer stay).
There is some parking available at the hotel, but it can get a bit chaotic when the hotel is full. Also BEWARE of black ice in the car park on cold mornings.
