We stayed for 3 nights during summer with the family, this was a fantastic apartment and a great location. The views of the mountain and the interior decor were both stunning and the gas fireplace really added to the romance. Great kitchen and bathrooms, the heated floors, board games and Austar are a nice touches.

We really liked thredbo in summer, and we will do it again.

Pity it is so expensive in winter !! We would love to have a week in that apartment during peak Ski season.

The service was great, and booking through Lantern apartments was a pleasure.

Our family of four had a one night stay at the Lantern Apartments in January. The apartments were clean and well appointed with fabulous views out across the valley.

Stayed in a one bedroom deluxe looking straight across the valley.
I gather the "deluxe" includes different things depending on which actual room you get - we had an "expanded" living room (which was actually very comfortable) with a proper full kitchen including major appliances, hidden laundry, dining table, lounge & decent flatscreen/DVD. Also shared a large balcony area with individual outdoor furniture & a common bbq.
The deluxe also guarantees a car park, which the "standard" does not. This may not matter if you are only going to unload/load once during your stay, but keep in mind the public parking would likely be a long walk.
I found the bedroom could be a little noisy, due to its proximity to the common tiled stairwell. Thankfully we had quiet neighbours, and otherwise it was a very quiet stay.
Located just off Alpine Way, even by Thredbo standards getting to & from these appartments involves a lot of steps and/or steep hills, but it is still only 5-10 minutes from most restaurants & bars. I actually enjoy the village paths and stairways but some may not enjoy the climb.
Staff were friendy & professional.
We'd stay again.

We were looking for a family break - quiet on the one hand but with plenty to do on the other. Thredbo in summer seemed ideal, with the option of walking, swimming, tennis, golf, bobsledding and mountain biking for the courageous. The Lantern Apartments were well appointed, and allowed us to cater for ourselves to a high standard. We chose to eat out one night which was very pleasant too - the Knickerbocker restaurant. We used the chairlift a lot, the bobsled and the pool - all very popular with the boys (10 & 11) - and climbed Kosi. All up it was fairly expensive for three days, but we all agreed it was well worthwhile.

Lack of nearby parking space can be cumbersome especially during heavy downpour but all in all still a great stay!
