“Absolutely amazing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

I booked the Wild Edge Retreat for two nights for my boyfriends surprise birthday weekend away. I thought the photos looked fantastic, but once we got there the photos don't do it justice. The place is absolutely beautiful and peaceful, and Alan and Andrew's attention to detail and personal service was just out of this world! We had the seafood platter ordered for two on the Friday night, and as soon as we arrived the place had tealight candles lit and the table set up for dinner. When we checked out on the Sunday they had been baking delicious coconut cookies all morning and gave us a little bag to take home with us. Divine experience, highly recommended and we'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Whispering Forest Pavillion which was perfect as it was winter and didn't need...

Dear Mzbron,

Thank you so much for submitting your review of your stay at Wild Edge.

Really pleased to read how much you had enjoyed your weekend away with us. We do receive a number of comments from guests who say our photos don't do the Retreat justice. I guess it's hard to capture it all in a photograph, but in a way it's always good to exceed guests expectations.

It was a pleasure to meet you both and thank you for choosing Wild Edge as your preferred accommodation in the Hunter.

We look forward to seeing you again.

Regards,

Alan

Just recently home from our fantastic weekend at Wild Edge.

From the moment we had put through our initial enquiry to Alan to the moment we were leaving the whole experience has been absolutely fantastic.

Gorgeous views, amazingly clean accommodation, friendly service and very stress free environment.

We decided to pack all food we would need for the three night stay we were there for and not to venture off to try local places and we were extremely pleased... We were so happy there we didn't want to have to leave!

Cannot give Wild Edge enough praise, photos and descriptions on their website do not do it justice it is even better than what you can believe.

We really cannot wait for our next visit to Wild Edge thank you so much Alan we really had a great time!

Dear Jessica C,

Thank you for posting such a great review of Wild Edge. It is much appreciated when we receive such positive feedback.
It was a pleasure to have you stay and to read just how much you had enjoyed the Retreat. The aspect and views from our Pavilions ensure that all offer magnificent, but slightly different vistas, so returning guests can choose a different Pavilion with a different outlook, creating a whole new experience!

We look forward to welcoming you back and thank you again for your review.

Kind regards,

Wild Edge was a secluded retreat for our couples weekend. We stayed in the Earth Song pavilion and the view was breathtaking. The décor, ambience, facilities and service was of a 5 star quality Waking to the mist drifting thru the mountains and the bird song was uplifting and very special.. Our hosts could not have been more accomadating and discreet. Walking in to candles, aromatherapy and music set the tone for our weekend. Alan(who by the way was so patient with some of our inane enquiries) drove us to our pavilion with our luggage in the golf buggy. We added in room couples massage to our visit which mas delightful and very romantic.l. The pavilion was spotless, the bed extremely comfortable with a day bed on the verandah with spectacular views from both Not to mention the semi open two person spa over looking the mountain view. The breakfast provisions where first class. The staff availability and discretion was on par and surpassed many of the 5 star motels we have stayed in the city. We would recommend Wild Edge to anyone and will definitely return many times in the future.

Dear Dallas K,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of Wild Edge Retreat.

Naturally, we love our property, and it's so rewarding to read when our guests have shared part of that love too. Certainly, the weather during your stay helped to ensure you could enjoy all of the facilities, and as Winter looms, both Earth Song and Wind Spirit (being North facing) will enjoy some magnificently romantic sunsets for guests to revel in.

We hope it won't be too long before we are welcoming you back to the Retreat.

Kind regards,

Alan

Enjoyed our two night stay here enormously. Very isolated and relaxing, with beautiful views and very friendly staff. Pretty much everything we needed. It was probably too warm for a fire but too cool for the pool but we still enjoyed sitting on the deck enjoying the views. A great, relaxing break.

Room Tip: Villa 1 (Nature's Mist) had a lovely pool, very isolated (no wifi or mobile phone). Also, we had...

Dear Edmo1066,

Thank you for posting your review of Wild Edge Retreat. Very pleased to read that you had enjoyed your stay with us and that you also enjoyed our peaceful and relaxing location.

We try to be fairly generous with all of our platters, so it was good to read that you enjoyed the BBQ Platter on two nights!

I noticed in your 'room tip' that you mentioned there was no wifi at Nature's Mist. We do actually have wifi throughout the property. I'm not sure if you had missed this in our information letter, so trust this didn't impact on your stay.

Again, many thanks for the great review.

Stayed at Wild Edge Retreat over Easter and it was the most amazing experience. From the moment we arrived, every single element of our stay was 5 star. From the welcome and buggy transfer, the quick overview of all the facilities in our Pavlion, the outdoor sun deck and pool, the bose sound system, the cleanliness, etc. etc. I could not speak highly enough of the owners or the resort itself.
We opted for some additional extras with the candle packes (for a special occasion), couples massage and helicopter tour to Hunter, which were all fantastic in their own way. However, just staying and relaxing at the resort is pure bliss in itself. It's quiet, peaceful and very romatic with the two person spa, outdoor pool and breathtaking views.
The pictures of WIld Edge look amazing but none of them can capture how wonderful it is in reality. A truly magical weekend. I would encourage everyone to stay here at least once!

Room Tip: We stayed at the Wind Spirit Pavilion, which was fantastic with the outdoor pool, which warmed up ni...

What a beautiful place! I took my partner here to celebrate his 50th birthday and to get away and relax. As it was raining Alan met us at our car with an umbrella before taking us to the Wind Spirit Pavilion on the golf buggy. Walking in to candles, an aromatherapy burner and soft music made it very special. The pavilion is luxurious and has everything you need. Relaxing on the deck watching and listening to the birds while taking in the views was so relaxing. The infinity pool and day bed were another delight. The cheese platter and breakfast provisions were plentiful and delicious.
Everything about our stay was perfect.
We would definitely recommend everyone experience this wonderful destination.

We stayed in the Wind Spirit pavilion for our wedding anniversary and we absolutely loved it. We were lucky to get gorgeous weather so spent all our time by the beautiful, private pool. The sunken hydrotherapy tub overlooking the beautiful view is just divine. The pavilion was beautifully clean and we had everything we needed to stay and relax for our whole stat. The day bed by the pool was a great place to relax between swims and just soak up the amazing surroundings. Sunsets are gorgeous and we enjoyed them with some champagne while sitting on the recliners on the deck. Alan was lovely and very helpful and provided beautiful breakfast. Highly recommended and we plan to return!
