“Clean home, excellent breakfast”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 September 2011

My husband and I spent Labor Day weekend here and can't wait to come back. Our room and bed were extremely comfortable and so clean. Bathroom was like being in your own spotless home (or your home when you've just cleaned!). I loved it. And loved breakfast even more. Poached pears, frittatas, muffins, coffee, juice... We met some lovely couples staying there and ended up planning to meet for breakfasts at the same time. Pam never rushed us out (I might have if I were her!) though we all sat chatting for well over an hour.

The B&B itself is in a great location. We were able to walk to anywhere we wanted. Loved our stay!

We stayed on the third floor in the larger suite toward the back of the house. Very private and home-like. You can tell that the innkeeper takes pride in managing her inn. Everything was super clean, and the shampoo and soap was high quality. The home is amazing. All the detailed workings of the home are well-kept (stairs are sturdy, etc...). The breakfasts were alright. Coffee was fresh, and juice was great...but the breakfast was not very filling. We read reviews on here before we booked the room. Everyone raved and ranted about the breakfast and about Pam--the innkeeper being amazing. I think this was inflated. Breakfast was average. Pam, although she is polite, she is not all too personable. Very straight and to the point, and tried to keep to herself, but that's neither here nor there. Some might like that in their innkeeper. I think she could have tried to be more joyful. I don't want to talk too much $hit about her, as she may have just had a root canal or going through something in her life, so maybe she can be a bit curt. The location is prime. Right in the heart of historic district of Jim Thorpe. We had a great group staying, and it was a joy to conversate in the back terrace with cold beers. Oh yeah, she stores free cold Yuenglings!

My wife and I spent a wonderful 3-day mid-week vacation in Jim Thorpe, PA in early August. The weather was perfect and so was Rendon House. The breakfasts were the best we've ever had, just superb. Pam, the innkeeper was a delight. Our room was spacious and quiet. The parlor downstairs was stocked with cold Yuenglings, which hit the spot after a 25 mile bike ride on the Lehigh Gorge rail trail. Rendon House is central to everything in the historic district. It's a can't miss.

My wife and I stayed at the Rendon House the weekend of May 14th, and what a great time! The house is beautiful and well kept. Very clean, with spacious comfortable rooms with private baths! Pam the owner was just great! She was such a joy to talk to and made our stay a excellent experience! The breakfasts were amazing, Poached pears, homemade pastries, excellent coffee, filling omelets, and fruit. I promise you, you will NOT be hungry for lunch after one of Pams breakfasts! The house had very beautiful antique furniture, as well as some local art, not to mention the beautiful wreaths and such that her daughter makes and sells in her shop just up the road from the Rendon House. We can not wait to get back to Jim Thorpe and visit Pam at the Rendon house again! You can tell that Pam takes great pride in her home! A B&B as it should be! Thanks for everything Pam!

Wow! What an experience! We just got back from the Arts Weekend at Jim Thorpe PA. Owner Pam at the Rendon House made it a WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! We had a private entrance, a gorgeous room with a new bathroom, antiques, a hand carved bed and loads of well-appointed rooms. For breakfast, Pam delighted us with poached pears drizzled with a raspberry sauce, homemade cheese danishes, THEN french toast made with Easter bread and sausage . What made the toast delicious was orange zest, topped with carefully warmed syrup. The Rendon house has a nature-filled sitting area in back with a bubbling fountain and a view of the steep, tree covered hillside. I could have sat there all day listening to the birds trilling. We can't wait to go back!

Rendon House is in a perfect location for starters. Everything in the oldest section of Jim Thorpe is within easy walking distance. Owner/proprietor Pam was at our window the moment we arrived and showed us to our off street parking (which was a big plus in a cramped village like JT). Pam is a wealth of knowledge and more than willing to share without being pushy. The house matches its surroundings perfectly and is furnished inside and out in a complement to the village. Breakfast was incomparable. Each day was completely different, presented beautifully and as tasty as it looked. If we return to Jim Thorpe, we would stay at the Rendon House if possible.

This was a great place for a romantic weekend! This bed and breakfast is fairly quiet, but is in a great location close to many shops and restaurants. The innkeeper was very friendly, helpful, and paid attention to details. The bed and breakfast was spotlessly clean with beautiful antiques and decorations! We loved our room, with a large four poster bed overlooking Broadway. There were multiple common rooms, which felt just like home with games, newspapers, magazines, complimentary snacks, and a movie collection. The breakfasts were delicious! We were served fruit, pastries, coffee, tea, and a main item every morning with charming place settings. Overall, this was a great value...beautiful clean rooms, delicious breakfasts, and all the comfort of home.
